Linda's POV

" I know. I'm not stupid. Do you already have the item? "

He shakes his head. 

I scoff. " Then how were you guys going to use the evidence. They might even kill you for presenting it to them when you are not even a part of their world. "

" That's the thing, someone is working on getting the item for us. "

I smile. " I can do something better. What if I told you I already have the item? Two of them. " 

His eyes widen. " How did you get your hands on them? "

I feel sad. " One of the elders gave my late father the item. But he died before he could use it. "

" I'm sorry. "

" It's okay. What is important right now is getting the item to you. "

" Yeah, that will be tricky," he says with his forehead scrunched up thinking hard. " And even if you get it for us we can't use it. "
