Bab 55: 55. Ruckus.
9 new knights for the price of 4 was a great deal in my book, 3 Magus sisters, 3 Cerberus, 2 brothers errr sisters and then Diablo.
Rose was rather put out with me when I came to register another 9 chocobo and 3 other summons. But she cheered up when she saw how cute the new trio was, moogle was extra floofy and sylph just hid on my head adorable little fairy. Plus Carbuncle had the softest ears ever.
She was however most shocked with sylph. "Is that a nature spirit? Those are supposed to be extinct!" She asks in awe at the little green haired fairy wearing leaf like clothes. "They were practically worshipped by the elves for being creatures of pure magic."
"Well she could be a spirit I suppose." I rub the little fairy under the chin who giggles happily. She can easily fit into the palm of someone's hand.
"The elves are going to go crazy when they hear you have a spirit for a summon familiar." Rose says with a frown. "Most elves would probably try to get close to you just to be around a creature of pure magic like that."
"I already draw enough attention from elves with my own magic levels and aura." I smile wryly.
"Plus I heard about that little space magic of yours. An entire realm inside of a pocket dimension! Do you know how rare magic like that is even on a smaller level. Just the inventory magic is highly sought after." Rose says with a frown. "Plus there was some kind of castle with a Halo above it?"
"Ah the gardens, yeah that is a thing." I nod. "I moved in there so that my familia would be safe from harrassment from any other familia."
"Yes, I have yet to scold you about your little argument with Loki. I thought we agreed to not cause problems." Rose asks with a frown.
"I was just eating breakfast." I start.
"Then started bad mouthing gods in general. Just because you dislike them doesn't mean you should go around starting fights with them like a child." She scolds. "Just ignore them and go about your day like the rest of us."
I could only shrug wryly. "Fair enough, I shouldn't provoke them as that makes me no better." I appease the werewolf woman.
I could only take my scolding properly since she was just trying to look out for me. Besides I don't know when my temper became so short maybe I should relax and learn to meditate or something. "By the way I was wondering where I could purchase books on rare dungeon plants, magical plants, rare dungeon ore, magical ore, blacksmithing, alchemy and item creation." I ask the woman.
"The guild can provide copies of the books on ores and herbs as we use most of them in quests. It only costs some Valis. If you are trying to learn blacksmithing and alchemy it is also best to pick up books on monster parts. Some things like blood and other items extracted from monsters in the dungeon can be used in potions and elixirs and even forging. We have some recipes that are for sale but if you want more unique recipes or crafting knowledge usually you have to head to various familia and pay an incredibly hefty price." Rose says.
"I'll take the books you have for sale then." Hades has specifically asked me for books on the plants of this world as they were different from her original world. I only have a single alchemist in my group anyway as even I don't have much alchemy knowledge. I'm still learning shit about this place too, I haven't even been here that long.
We don't really need any potions or elixirs personally however they do sell for quite a high price and could provide us with quick money. The one that can regrow limbs however should be useful to know just in case. Emergency mana potions would also be nice. As for the books on ores well I just need to compare the metals I have in hand to the metals of this world and see what I don't have or what is different.
"The Denatus is coming up soon, I'm sure you'll make waves being a level 2 in less than a month if training. Plus all the little messes you've been making and skills you've shown." Rose says making me stumble slightly and scratch my cheek. The Denatus was where the god and goddesses would all gather up and then discuss their familia members, who increased rank, their nickname, discuss any war games.
"Ah, I'm not level 2 anymore." I admit sheepishly.
Rose knew about my quick rise to level 1 and then my body troubles for level 2. I might have left some small details out though.
She freezes mid-step "You made it to level 3?" She asks after a minute.
"No, currently I am level 4." I tell the stunned werewolf.
"How...?"
"Each of the knights gains me Excellia, I have 29 knights and the dog armor. Each of them is like an independent adventurer that works to make me stronger. So technically from them alone its 30 times faster since the dog counts too. What might take a normal adventurer 30 days would only take me 1." I tell the stunned Rose.
"That's, crazy!" Rose says still shocked.
That's cheating for ya. Didn't even mention the 25x excellia gain from the exp plus magic I had used. So i gain at an even crazier rate.
"No wonder they had just been bringing in load after load of monster cores the past week!" Rose says remembering those knights bringing basically 2 massive bags of magic cores each into the guild daily 3 times a day.
"They are hard workers." I chuckle. "I would prefer if you not mention this but I just felt like you should know." I tell the woman.
"I appreciate your trust in me." Rose says with a smile.
