Bab 18: 18. Hephaestus.
"Ah seems I have to quit talking or your goddess will dig out all my secrets." I say with a friendly smile.
Loki just acts childishly and sticks out her tongue.
"I heard dragoons fought with spears not swords?" Finn asks looking at the massive buster sword.
"There are a couple of different types of dragoons I believe. But I know what ones you are talking of, dragon riders who flew on the backs of dragons, they would dive from the sky with spears and land on their opponents. Their spears were built to pierce the thick scales of dragons and had dragon slayer properties. They trained themselves to jump to extreme heights." I would know as dragoon was one of my favorite classes in most final fantasy games.
"How is yours different?" Finn asks curiously.
"Oh that's a secret."
I feel a tug on my shirt and look to see a duo staring at me with sparkly eyes, one was blonde and had a passive face and looked kind of like a doll, the other was tanned and was wearing skimpy clothes and had an excited look.
"Are you really a dragon slayer?" The blonde asks.
"Do you have more stories about dragoons?! What about those other classes you mentioned, The Hero of Light?" The Amazon questioned eagerly.
"Personally I have not killed any dragons myself yet, however I have seen many dragons killed and summoned." The memories of Dart had seen to that. "Yes I have plenty of stories you would have never heard of before about heroes."
"He is telling the truth." Loki says.
"Are you just going to be a walking lie detector all day?" I ask the nosey goddess.
"Yes, just because I can see it annoys you." Loki says not having forgiven her loss against a level 1. It was a blow to her pride as a trickster goddess.
I just shake my head.
"You mentioned a third class?" A mature sounding elf asks. "Horror-Terror?"
"Ah that one." I get memories of where Vincent was captured and experimented on by a crazy scientist named Hojo and frown. "Perhaps you have heard about human experimentation before? People trying to cut apart humans and merge them with monstrous creatures to gain their abilities." Everyone frowns at that. "Anyway, you could gain great power but it comes at a heavy cost, however 99% of the time those experiments are deemed a failure and the one conducting them was killed off. So chances are you will never run across another in your existence."
"I believe the minotaur was supposed to be a combination of human and bull if I recall correctly?" Finn says with a frown.
"Dunno. I think I heard a story about Zues coming down and having sex with humans while he was an eagle and creating bird people or something." I offer.
Loki nods. "Seems like something that pervert would do."
"So are you some kind of demigod then?" Riviera asks.
"Nope, sorry my abilities come from a different set of circumstances." I deny. "Anyway we are almost there."
"Aww but I want to hear more stories." Tiona says with a frown.
"I wish to learn about these Dragoons." Ais says tugging on my shirt.
"Maybe I'll tell you later." I laugh at the duo.
We had now arrived at Hephaestus's familia area and Loki was talking with a clerk. The others had split off to go and look at the equipment in the area.
"Let's go Hephaestus is in her office." Loki says.
Me and Hel follow along behind her.
Loki knocks on a certain door. "Come in."
Heading inside there is a red haired goddess with an eye patch looking at us. "Loki, Hel and...?" Her eye narrows at my body.
"Are all you goddess going to look at me like that?" I ask with a frown.
"He's mine!" Hel says quickly latching onto my arm.
"You have soul bound equipment?" Hephaestus says. "A kind I have never seen in my entire life and a living weapon?" Her eye shows a hungry gleam.
"Man you guys are scary." Even Loki is giving me a strange look. "Its rather rude to spill others secrets." I frown at the red head.
She has the decency to look sheepish. "I apologize. May I ask what your are here for..?"
"Ryan, captain of the Hel familia. I have some things I need made and they have to be pretty much perfect, I also need a crucible or forge installed in my home." I pull out my designs and pass them over.
"I'll make these for you for free if you let me examine your armaments." Hephaestus says quickly scanning the detailed sketches.
"No thanks besides Loki is footing the bill for everything today. Those are just moulds and tools, not worth much." I tell the goddess of smithing.
"I will personally forge you a legendary weapon worth at least 100,000,000 vali a growth weapon." She counter offers, her divinity flaring up to see the strange equipment she can only barely see hidden in the soul of the young man in front of her.
Even Loki is shocked by that offer. "Just how special is that equipment for you to offer that in return?"
"I have never seen anything like what he has in his body. My divinity is demanding to examine it." Hephaestus says her eye not leaving my body. "Even the sword on his back is made from some material I have never seen before."
Honestly I would like to adjust the dragoon armor and see if more of my equipment could be soul bound, it would help tremendously. The divine dragoon armor is large and bulky and hard to move in, the fire dragoon armor is weak, plus I also have my transformations like the galian beast I would like to have armor for as I'm sure I'll need it later on. Having soul bound equipment for each of my forms would be great. Or help making a gun that could fire just magic instead of bullet, that could come in handy in the future.
