Bab 16: A dragon?

– Now it's spells class, right? – Celine asked as they walked.

Harumi sighed – Yes… it's a little difficult for me to memorize these things, so I usually carry a spellbook.

Harumi held a small bag in her hand and took out a red cover book, there was a jewel in the center, she opened it and showed Celine – I just write down the spells here so when I need it I just get this book.

Celine's eyes sparkled, she pointed to some small drawings – Did you draw them?

They entered the room and took their seats – Here Celine! – Harumi pointed to the place beside her, so the three were next to each other with Harumi in the middle.

The teacher arrived and sono started the class, citing spells and explaining their functions.

Itzal, that was the name of the teacher of basic spells for the second grade students and he was also the teacher of advanced spells for the third and fourth grade.

Harumi gave Celine a notebook that she took from her small purse that she carried tied to her belt. 'A space bag, it's really useful to have almost infinite space inside a little bag' Celine thought.

Many of these spells mentioned in class were spells Celine had already studied in Celestia, while others she vaguely remembered seeing… 'The spellbook my mother gave me has all of these… I'll take a look when I get to the dorm' Celine remembered, she had just leafed through that book a little.

– Alright students, released – The teacher said as he got up collecting his materials.

Celine pursed her lips, thinking a bit about this teacher, Professor Itzal, he was a mage of Mishan Guo, currently, the only one in this realm who was outside of it, what she heard from her palace servants was that Itzal had been expelled from Mishan Guo by the Guardian of that Realm herself, but only the residents of Mishan Guo know the reason for the expulsion, even so, it was quite obvious that the Principal would not miss the opportunity to hire a magician from Mishan Guo's Kingdom.

– Celine! Let's go! – Harumi pulled her arm, dragging her into the hallway, they chatted as they walked to the cafeteria.

Suddenly they heard a little confusion in the hallway, many people were talking while another calmly passed by.

– That's… – Celine looked at the person walking calmly down the aisle and attracted so many people's attention.

– ...Professor Weilyn – Leila also continued staring at the man with a white band on his forehead – Why didn't he heal this wound?

Harumi smiled – It's something that teacher Mysie left in him, it's obvious he wants to stay with this bruise for a while.

Celine and Leila looked at her strangely.

– Why would it be obvious? – Celine asked,

There were already enough people in the cafeteria, they took their trays, helped themselves to some plates and went to a small table for four people, there was already a girl in it, who raised her head and smiled at them.

Harumi smiled and walked faster, they sat down and Harumi introduced her to Celine.

–Celine, this is Asterin, from Wigan, Asterin, this is Celine, from Celestia"

Asterin, the girl with huge silver braids smiled at Celine – It's nice to meet you, Celine.

Celine nodded as she smiled – Nice to meet you too Asterin.

The princesses were apparently all friends here in Kesla. Princess Asterin Kalion, the only granddaughter of the current Emperor of Argon, Wigan was the capital of the Argon Empire.

– Asterin! Have you seen Professor Weilyn? – Harumi asked before starting to eat.

Asterin chuckled – He's funny with that headband, I hear it was Professor Mysie who did that right?

Leila nodded, Asterin showed a thoughtful expression – Do you know anything about this? About what happened between them?

Harumi asked seeing that expression.

Asterin nodded weakly – I think so...

Harumi's eyes sparkled as she stared expectantly at Asterin, not only her but Leila and Celine also unconsciously displayed the same expression of curiosity.

Asterin smiled and said – It might not be that but I'll tell you what I heard. Actually Professor Weilyn and Professor Mysie were a couple, I heard from the veterans that they were always together and were even going to get married, one day teacher Mysie showed up incredibly happy, not only she, teacher Weilyn too, the students found out later that it was because teacher Mysie was pregnant. All the students were happy too, the principal even had a little celebration, but then one day the teacher stopped coming, everyone thought it was because of the pregnancy, that she needed to rest, it wasn't long, a month later the teacher came back, she was weird, every time someone asked something about the pregnancy she got angry and left, when they asked about it to Professor Weilyn, he lowered his head and changed the subject, the two avoided each other all the time, well, teacher Mysie avoided teacher Weilyn, after a while a student found out that they had lost the baby, there was probably an accident, but no one understood why they suddenly didn't get together anymore. Maybe they had a fight over that loss, but would it be to the point that Professor Mysie would just start hating Professor Weilyn?

The three looked at her with doubtful expressions, Celine suddenly said – Unless it wasn't an accident.

They all stared at her, Asterin nodded – Some students then thought that Professor Weilyn did something, that's why Professor Mysie hates him so much.

Harumi frowned – But why would he do something, didn't they say he was happy?

– Exactly, that's why no one can understand what really happened, with time everyone left this subject aside, and the students who arrived later just thought that the two teachers didn't get along – Asterin spoke calmly, then continued to eat, the three young women still had expressions of doubt, but because of the time they dared not talk anymore.

The corridors were already empty, everyone had already gone to their classrooms after lunch, only one young man was walking calmly through the corridors, he was holding a small amulet in his hand, watching him calmly as he walked.

– You're just an ordinary human, what do you think you're doing here? You don't even take classes seriously, just wasting the Tasvali family's hopes of glory – A voice was heard, the young man walking stopped and listened, slowly approaching where the sound was coming from.

The young man frowned, his green eyes stared in the direction from which the sound was coming, walking calmly there and coughing weakly to get the attention of these people.

The boys who were talking looked at the person who had interrupted them and widened their eyes, there was a young man who was surrounded by the others, who also looked at who had arrived with a slightly surprised expression.

– President Thamy – Everyone greeted in unison, the young man with dark brown hair just looked at the floor and said nothing.

Thamy smiled – You shouldn't be here right?

As soon as he said that, the boys quickly nodded and left, leaving only Thamy and the boy behind. The boy looked at Thamy blankly.

Thamy approached him – Are you okay? Don't listen to what they say.

The boy sniffed as he walked away – This is none of your business and… I can't do anything if what they said was true.

Thamy looked at him, reaching out and showing the small amulet in his hand, the young man looked and widened his eyes,

Thamy smiled and handed him – Your amulet Raphael, I'm sorry for what happened last year, that had nothing to do with you.

Raphael stared at him for a while before almost imperceptibly muttering a thank you, putting the amulet in the inside pocket of his uniform, he nodded to Thamy and left.

Thamy continued to stand in the hallway, frowning he briefly stared at the walls with narrowed eyes before leaving too.

'Does this thing go out during the day?' The hallways were empty, the afternoon sunlight reflecting off the window illuminated lightly the corridors, forming small shadows in places where the light was not touching, and one of them moved suddenly, crawling to a certain spot before turning into a person, his long silver hair gleaming in the sunlight, he stared at the spot where the green-eyed youth had disappeared: 'Night mages, if I could take his powers, I definitely wouldn't need to stay here…' Snorting, he shifted and crawled back into the shadows, disappearing completely.

Celine sat at her desk as she opened the spellbook given to her by the Sorceress of the Nine Realms, flipping through page by page and carefully reading every word, everyone in the dorm was focused on their studies, Celine easily finished reading the entire book.

During classes, Celine noticed the variety of species in the classroom, they seemed well divided and quite diverse.

Something then suddenly flashed in her mind and she quickly grabbed a piece of paper, drawing again that strange symbol from the tapestry, as soon as she finished she looked at it.

– What creature is this? – A voice suddenly asked, Celine recognized the voice and replied – I don't know, I just saw this symbol and I've been trying to guess.

Harumi nodded with a strange expression – It seems to be pretty ugly… what is this? A lizard with... wings? – She asked.

– It looks like this! I thought about it, it really looked like a lizard with wings – Celine replied.

– Lizards are scary enough when they crawl, I could just die if I found one that had wings... – Harumi spoke with the same strange expression as she unconsciously shivered.

Leila approached and also looked at the drawing, she stared for a while before muttering – A dragon?

Celine and Harumi stared at her, Celine widened her eyes – Do you know what this is?

Leila watched as one stared at her in curiosity and the other in disbelief – I don't really know, I saw this in a book of ancient creatures while walking around in my father's office, there was a drawing similar to this one, it was a lizard with wings and underneath it was written the word 'Dragon', that was the only thing I could read, the rest was either blurry or in a language I didn't know.

– Don't tell me this thing exists…please Leila, tell me this thing doesn't exist – Harumi held her shoulders as she spoke.

– There aren't, I was curious and asked my father about it, he said these were ancient creatures, and they all died in the great war that took place 3000 years ago – Leila explained while smiling – There was a minister with my father when I asked and he said that these creatures were lust-ridden monsters, they destroyed cities and many people died because of these creatures, and so the kingdoms of that time came together to destroy them, and only after their destruction, there was finally peace.

Harumi sighed with relief – Just their appearance is scary, I'm glad I wasn't born at that time.

Leila nodded in agreed.

Celine heard everything and faced the drawing again: 'Why did she see two people with this symbol on the tapestry? These "dragons" are practically a race of shapeshifters…? A race…'

– We'd better rest, tomorrow we'll have classes of fighting and weapons handling – Leila turned and went to her bed, Harumi and Celine nodded and did the same, soon the room was calm.
