"Come here," Gabriel drawled and waited while she walked towards him, her shoulders back, her chin held high as though she sought was nothing of great magnificence. Instead of standing in front of him like a normal person, Amelia slid onto his lap sideways and trailed her finger down his neck. Of course, Amelia was not an average person.

He caught her finger in his hand, all the while their eyes were locked. "Why do you need sanctuary?" He replied and released her finger only to move her hair out of the way from her neck. He made it seem like a caress, and Amelia closed her eyes to his touch; he lowered his lips to her neck and sunk his teeth in instantly.
