Bab 100: Chapter 100
A small crowd had begun to gather around the front of the castle. Like the sun it dawned on him. Today was the day of Zeven's coronation. In just a few short hours Zeven would step out on the terrace and announce his rule. He almost started to explain what was happening, but he had an inkling she already knew.
She was quiet, he almost thought she was still sleeping except he could feel as she exhaled loudly and kept moving her right hand in and out of a clenched fist.
Brennan left the horse outside of the palace grounds. He slid off first, then offered his hand to Chris. He worried for a second if she was going to take it or if she was going to dismount on her own. Normally it wouldn't have been an issue, if anything, him offering to help her would have been considered an insult. But thankfully she took his hand and let herself be pulled down.
He held her in his arms for just a second longer than he needed to. Making sure she had enough time to find her balance. The long ride had taken a lot out of her, her muscles shaking as she stood. However, she was quick to 'recover'. Standing straight she began to walk towards the palace.
If he hadn't been aware that she was injured, he never would have known. She seemed just as strong as ever. No hesitation in either mind nor gait. He filled in line, staying a few steps behind her as they approached the walls of the palace.
There were several ways that they could enter, but with Chris's current condition, well hidden or not, it made some of the easier ones impossible. They would have to go in on the ground floor. No climbing on crawling, just walking straight in.
