Bab 12: Interview
Han Sofia POV,
I kept moving my legs because I was nervous. I tried to calm myself by twirling my wedding ring repeatedly.
"You better not move your feet or you will lose your luck today", whispered the woman sitting next to me
"Uh? Jinjja? Ah, mianhae ..", I answered immediately stopping my feet
I am currently at the Bighit Entertainment office. I and 9 other people were sitting in a room, waiting for our turn to interview. They all look as worried as me.
"Miss Park Minyoung ... please come in", called a young woman from behind the door of the interview room
I saw a woman named Park MinYoung standing nervously and walking into the interview room. I felt the cellphone in my pants pocket vibrate, I took it out and opened the incoming message.
"Sobi~aah, are you interviewing today? Don't worry! Be yourself! Fighting", the message from Yoongi
I raised my eyebrows, surprised by this message. It's very unusual for him to encourage me, I thought. I typed a reply message for him before turning off my cellphone again.
"Gomawo yo", I wrote briefly
Four or five people have entered alternately into the interview room, I looked at my watch, I have been waiting for the queue for almost 2 hours. I feel a little calmer already. I was observing my surroundings when a voice called my name.
"Miss Han Sofia ...", called the young woman
"Ye", I replied immediately
I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to calm myself. I got up, straightened my clothes and then walked towards the door of the interview room.
When I entered the room, I saw 4 interviewers sitting at a long table, 3 women (in their late 20s to mid 30s) and 1 middle-aged man.
"Annyeong haseyo, Han Sofia imnida (good morning, I am Han Sofia)", I said, bowing my body 45 degrees towards them
"Annyeong, Han Sofia ssi, please sit down", answered one of the female interviewers wearing bright yellow suits
"Annyeong, take it easy Sofia ssi, don't be nervous", said the male interviewer with a friendly smile
"Ye, kamsahamnida", I replied smiling
"I really like your hair, did you dye it ?, I never found the right hair dye like that ...", said the woman with glasses
"Ani. This is my natural hair color", I replied
"Jinjja ??", replied the three interviewers at the same time
"Waah, daebaak!", He said again
"Alright, Sofia ssi, can you tell me about yourself ?", Asked the man in front of me
"My name is Han Sofia, I'm 22 years old and I am in 3rd year studying fashion design at Seoul National University", I answered confidently
"Sofia ssi, I have read your CV and portfolio. To be honest I really like the costume designs you have made, can you tell me where the inspiration you got in designing?", Asked the woman with a ponytail
"Ah, ye ....", then I answered the questions, quite well I thought
They kept asking various questions in turn, about my dreams and future goals, the work experience I had, what I knew about Bighit, they even asked whether I was an ARMY or not.
The atmosphere in this room felt relaxed, it is not as formal as before. I can even answer those questions with a smile or a laugh. Not bad, they all turned out to be quite exciting in responding to all my answers.
"Uh, Sofia ssi, are you married?", Asked the woman in yellow, pointing to my hands which I put on my lap
"Umm, ye. I just got married", I replied shyly
"Jinjja ?? Are you married at this young age?", Asked the man
"Ye. I just got married at the end of November this year", I replied slowly
"Woah, finally! I found the right person!", Said the woman with a ponytail. "Bujangnim (designation for Manager), she is mine", she said to the middle-aged man who looked at me with a smile
"Arasso", replied the man nodding his head
"But we want her too", whispered the woman in yellow clothes to the middle-aged man
The manager looked at his three co-workers while thinking about something, then he looked at me and smiled.
"Congratulations Sofia ssi, we welcome you to an internship in our company. You will be under the team of Mrs. Kang (pointing at a woman with a ponytail), we hope you can give new ideas and creative atmosphere for the company", he said sincerely
"Yes! Welcome to Bighit, Sofia ssi", said the woman named Kang
I saw the woman in yellow dress and the woman with the glasses seen sighing heavily and leaning back against the back of the chair.
"Jinjja? I'm accepted? Wow, kamsahamnida", I replied while bowing my body 90 degrees at them
"Ye", replied the man
"Sofia ssi, please wait outside, I want to talk to you before you go home", said Mrs. Kang excitedly
"Ye, of course", I replied
Then I walked out of the interview room with a big smile on my face. I can't believe it !! Finally I got an internship for my final project.
I sat back in my chair in the waiting room and immediately sent a message to Hyuna and Jiwoo. The whole time I couldn't get rid of the smile on my face because I was so happy. In this room there are still 3 applicants who are still waiting for their turn to be interviewed, they glanced at me curiously.
"Han Sofia ssi ...", called Mrs. Kang to come over to me
I stood up when I saw her coming.
"Come with me, kajja", she said, taking me to a small conference room at the end of the hall
"Sit down, please", she said again as we entered the room
"Kamsahamnida", I replied while sitting in a chair facing her
"I never thought I would meet you, I was so desperate earlier ...", she muttered as she took her cellphone out of her pocket
"I'm sorry ?", I asked confused
"Haha gwaenchana. I'm glad you can join my team. My name is Kang Yeri, I am your team leader. Well, I will pass the pleasantries between us ..... so, when can you start working? Because frankly we are very busy at the moment and really need a help ... ", she asked to the point
"Umm, my internship program will actually start in January. But my campus has already started its year-end holidays next week. Maybe if I can get my internship papers this weekend, I can start working next week, Gyejang-nim (designation for team leader) ... ", I replied
She sighed and took a serious look at the calendar on her cellphone.
"Today is December 19, is it possible for you to start working on December 21st ? Don't worry, even though your status is an intern, you will still be paid if you work on holidays", she added
"Ye, I think I can do it, I'll take care of my internship papers this afternoon", I smiled at her
"Thankyou !," she replied, leaning back against the back of the chair. "Sofia ssi, are you really married? You're still very young, you know that right?", she asked, leaning back towards me
"Ye, actually I got married because my parents had arranged it", I replied while lowering my face
"Umm, so it's matchmaking? Arasso ... Gwaencana, all the sylist staff in my team are already married. So besides getting experience about work, you will also get knowledge about marriage from them haha", she added, chuckling
"Jinjja? Arasso ...", I replied smiling
"Okay then, you can go home now. We will meet again on December 21st. You will sign your contract and get orientation about our work. Apa ada yang ingin kau tanyakan?", She asked
"No. I think everything is clear. Thank you, Gyejang-nim," I said, bowing down and leaving the room
While on the way to campus, I couldn't stop screaming and laughing, I was very happy. I am determined to do my job seriously. Hopefully by the middle of next year, my final project can be completed and I can graduate soon, I thought.
