"Hey, calm down. I will not eat you. Humans taste nasty anyways." Kana could remember the few times she had tasted human meat, and it was not tasty at all.

The young boy lifted his head with snot and tears running down his face with a frightened look in his eyes. "You won't? Ever since the evil god showed up, food sources have almost dried up. All the farm animals have died, and the farms have all dried up in most places. So demis and humans have been eating each other..."

Kana did not expect to get such valuable information right off the bat, but there was something wrong with the young boy's story because the city not far from them was full of people walking around selling goods. At least from what she could see. "That doesn't seem right because the city not too far from here seems to be doing fine."
