The fourth years had duelling in the morning. It was quite coincidental and convenient since they all wanted to know who the lucky person who would go to study under Nicholas Flamel would be. By the time Charlus arrived along with his roommates, the billboard was crowded.
Charlus and the others tried to push the others to get a chance to see the list, but the crowd was too much for them to handle. A boy was irritated by Charlus' group's pushing and turned around to scold them.
"Why are you pushing?!"
He looked at them and then saw Charlus.
He pointed at Charlus and shouted, "It's Charlus Potter!"
Everyone turned around to look at Charlus. All of them gave way for him to go inside to check the results. Charlus went first and decided to check the list from the last.

The paper was for fifty marks, and Charlus had crushed everyone. All of Charlus' friends together didn't have as many marks as Charlus. Charlus was hoping to get first, and he had expected it too - he felt that he had written the test very well. But a result like this made it look like he had cheated.
"You cheated didn't you?"
Nasper came forward and asked. Patrick was behind him with an angry expression.
"Looks like the desire to study with the great alchemist make you cheat. Didn't think you were such a person Heir Potter." Nasper spat out.
It was at this time that their professor arrived.
Nasper quickly went to the professor and started complaining.
"Professor Hemsworth. Look at the marks. It is obvious that Charlus cheated. It is a disgrace to the academy to even have such a student. I am sure Mr Flamel will be disappointed in us. I propose that he should be expelled from the school."
Professor Hemsworth laughed at Nasper's comment and said, "We invigilated the test, Mr Aubert. Mr Flamel was very pleased with the results of Mr Potter. He asked the school to deal with the formalities and send him after the weekend!"
Professor Hemsworth was clearly very excited. He looked at Charlus with a huge smile on his face.
"Okay. Today we will be going to do theory again. This whole week we will be theory and will be doing practicals next week. There was an unexplained incident yesterday and we are taking precautions."
The class went on smoothly. After class, Charlus went outside. When he stepped out, he was stopped by his friends.
"1st place huh?" Henri asked Charlus.
Charlus smiled awkwardly.
"I like alchemy a lot."
"You like it enough to leave all of us."
Charlus waved his hand at the comment.
"Come on! I'll only be there till winter. After that, I'll be back here."
"Yeah right. We believe you." Lucas said.
"Really? Thank you so much!"
Charlus said this and walked forward towards their next class - potions.

Headmistress' Office | 15th September 1988 | 10 AM
Sirius was in the office along with Madame Maxime.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know why I am here. Did Charlus do something again?"
Madame Maxime smiled.
"Yes, Mr Black. Your ward has created history here at Beauxbatons."
Sirius was shocked.
"Did he burn a building already? Didn't think he would do that so soon."
Madame Maxime quickly shook her head.
"You seem to misunderstand Mr Black. Mr Potter is not in trouble. Let me explain. Recently, a test was conducted. The test was on Alchemy. As the top scorer of the test, Mr Potter is now eligible to study under Nicholas Flamel himself for 3 months."
Sirius was awestruck. He stayed silent for a couple of seconds and then cracked up.
"Madame Maxime. The first time I saw you, you looked like you were very serious. And I mean Professor McGonagall serious. And now you are here pranking me. Looks are deceiving after all."
"This is not a prank at all Mr Black. I understand that this event feels highly improbable, but it had happened. You need to give your consent for your ward to go to Nicholas Flamel."
"Fine then. Take my consent. But I'm telling you, either you are pranking me, or someone somewhere is pranking you. However, if Charlus is to go, he must have this with him on his body at all times. Good day."
Sirius left Madame Maxime with his consent and a necklace. Once he went out, Madame Maxime started drafting a letter to Nicholas Flamel.
