I finished the book a year ago and there's not much to say about it. Gu Zhen Ren really went in a great direction focusing on growth, characters, and solid writing which I really wanted to see in Reverend Insanity.
It's good, it's just a shame the situation in. The author had to stop the story, and revise volume 1 and 2. The author's old book being banned, now this honestly surprises me that he wants to keep writing.
AT THE START OF 60 CHAPTERS I GOT SO FRUSTRATED WITH MC .HE WAS TOTALLY BLOCK HEAD KHIGHTCODE AND STUFF.AFTER CHAPTER 60 NOVEL SLOWLY PICKS UP HEIGHT AND SLOWLY FAMILARISES SIDE CHARACTES ALSO .IT BECOMES EXITING ,ADVENTURE.BUT IN CHAPTER 170 AROUND OMG !!!!!!!! THIS NOVEL SHOCKED ME TO CORE .I REVEREND INSANITY AUTHOR SALUTE TO U .U TRULY DIDNT DISSAPOINT ME .GREAT POTENTIAL NEED MORE CHAPTERS .
dear author, i am a new reader my first book is reverend insanity and it hurts my heart to see that there is no more to read, i beg you if possible please atleast tell me how it ends what happend after that...
Slow pace in start but it all for better world building for later part of book. Definitely worth reading. Those who are new to this author check out his WebNovel "Reverend Insanity".
This is a fantastic novel to read. I love the writing style and world building everything is described in a rich and refreshing way. Characters are well written.
Don't give up author I am still with RI and will keep up with you In This masterpiece you are creating. keep up!

It's a great novel. Looking forward to the translation of book two. It's well written with interesting characters and a good plot. 'Tis a pity about Reverend Insanity, but this is still a banger.
although I dont enjoy light hearted novels, I still give Gu Ren Zu my full 5 stars as he wrote the infamous Reverend Insanity! I was really hoping for dark, cruel protagonist like Fang Yuan (R.I) but I guess the author is taking a new approach to writing Maybe worth a try? I don't know for sure (yet)

Although the development is slow it is rewarding. The plot twists are amazing, as expected of gu Zhen Ren . . . . . : the MC isn’t a noble but in fact a body double.

Where should i start im here from the author previous book ri and honestly i haven’t read a single page of this on im just rating it this high because of the author past works and my trust that he is going to deliver a good store ill come back and update this if it not up to the standard i expected of him
I think this is a really good story. It really stands out compare to the other novels. I like the details. But why is a green shadow and did the protagonist lose his memories.
Easily the best trial read book in this entire year. Very slow in comparison to the others, but definitely well worth the read, managed to read up to ch 173, and I finally get a full feeling from reading it instead of an empty, pointless feeling after reading a book that just copied another novel's trope.

If you ask me it very good obviously, but not up to the level of RI , the author tried creating a western/Eastern Fantasy mix , but something about that mix never seems to work , dont get me wrong , it's still a lot better than the trash out there but Just a little bit lower than RI.
Same author as Reverend Insanity. I don't even have to read a single chapter of this to know it's going to be an absolute masterpiece. The fact that this is being translated on Qidian must have been an act of divine intervention because Gu Zhen Ren's (author) writings are like gems amidst the mountain of dogsh*t on this website.

At first I was only attracted to this novel because of the author himself. Based on how much of a masterpiece RI is, I had very high expectations in this novel. And it's true, I only read up to chapter 173 but those chapters are very satisfying. It tackles about human nature, and the characters are very alive you could feel what the characters feel and its very logical. You will know that the author really studied to make it logical and reasonable as much as possible. As for the mc, as of now he is a moral abiding person the total opposite of Fang Yuan. He's kinda the hero type, like never abandoning the weak or something, I don't if that will change but as of now based on the current chapter I am at there might be changes to his personality. And of course let's not forget the surprises you'll get, I won't say it because it's a surprise right? Lastly, it won't hurt to give it a try and you'll see that this novel is different from other novels.

I haven't invested myself in this book, but when I saw the tags I felt a little sad. Author-San, don’t try to change. Change is good, but when it's your own change, not because the public is forcing you. Being Fang Yuan is good in its own ways sometimes.
