Brendan spent too much time talking to people. Even so, being the person who went from place to place was… still good. He spent far more time on a ship than on any station within the Solar System.
He was very careful not to glare at the officer who handed him the token, that would let the King's representative pass most security gates on the Yin Corp station with only minimal interrogation. But he wanted to glare. Or rather, he wanted to skip the necessary conversation before disembarking.
He wondered how he had never realized how similar his parents' positions had actually been. Some of his irritation vanished at the thought of them. They seemed to be doing well, which he regarded as the most blatant sign of the success of transferring his term to his wife.
