Bab 45: Breaking the limitations
The inmate held tightly on the stones and silently got his legs into a position ready to lunge towards the beast, he had confidence on his physical prowess and believed that this beast won't be able to survive the blow that he was about to give it.
Lizzy was also confident with her combat prowess considering she had the help of the system and her enhanced body, she was just a few bits away from her first evolution and the reward of this task might help her evolve faster, since even her granny betrayed her she had decided to trust nothing and no one anymore, her limits had been broken and her granny's beliefs and memories permanently got stored deep in her mind where no one could access it.
Lizzy lunged at the inmate before he could lunge and attempted to take a large bite out of him, the speed of her lunge albeit fast was easily seen through by the experienced hitman and he rolled to the side with the help of his stance, his footing for his own lunge before was at a state where he could roll to either side if his opponent attacked him.
Lizzy seeing the opponent dodge her attack decided to use her tail to stop her momentum into the fire ring, she didn't know if it would burn her or not and she didn't want to try it out when the opponent was right in front of her, she loaded her dark flames in her mouth ready to fire at the hitman, the hitman saw this as an opportunity and lunged, he then used his steel knives to stab the back of the creature once since the creature then fired the flames at him, it burned the trees nearby that were hit in a blaze of dark glory.
In all honesty Lizzy started to think that humans were easy to hunt even though they had high combat ability and effectiveness but she didn't expect that there would be humans that could match her strength, it seems she still needed to be stronger, if a tank were to hit her or a grenade she would be dead.
A stinging pain hit her as the knife that the hitman stabbed her with left her wound, she swiped her tail at the hitman but he was able to back away from Lizzy, her wound oozing black blood as it was left wide open.
"It seems this creature isn't a problem after all" hitman.
Lizzy heard the hitmans words and couldn't help but be enraged, she had tried her best to grow strong but the sudden events did not wait for her, she bet that this hitman already chose his class considering he was faster and stronger than a normal human, in addition since the knife wasn't that long or big she shouldn't be bleeding like this especially since he missed her vitals, it could only mean that this hitman has a class skill.
"Damn I should've hunted them more actively before this world even occurred"
Lizzy regretted a choice of hers once again, this hitman wasn't someone easy to deal with and a thought suddenly entered her mind, if she can't win in a face to face confrontation then she didn't need to do so, she already had an AoE skill so why should she settle for a single target confrontation.
Lizzy grinned showing her razornsharp teeth, the hitman noticed this and got his guard up while backing up slightly, Lizzy also backed up and opened her mouth to reveal a dark flame ready to fire, the hitman lunged forward to stab Lizzy again with a smile on his face, the smile eventually faded though as he saw the creature backing away from him.
Lizzy spewed her dark flame at the path of the hitman while backing away, the ground burned in the flames of the abyss and Lizzy kept spewing it out, her energy was now being consumed rapidly by the skill but she didn't mind since her plan was to blanket the area except for a small patch for her to stand in with the dark flame.
Lizzy kept up breathing fire and the area around the hitman kept on shrinking and shrinking, after a few minutes the hitman space was no more than a 2 meters wide, he gritted his teeth and tossed his weapons towards Lizzy as his final act, the weapons stabbed Lizzy's back and scarred her face but she didn't stop breathing fire.
"Is this what they call karma? haha I have killed so many people and creatures, I felt powerful and I am sure that I'm physically stronger than this creature with my assassin class, but... even that couldn't help me, those who betrayed me and you damned lizard hahaha I will see you all in hell!!!"
The hitmans final message echoed as he burned within the fires of the abyss, Lizzy stopped her skill and laid on the ground, it seems the skill would drain her easily in prolonged used, upon the deactivation of the skill Lizzy saw the door of the netherworld again taking the soul of the hitman, due to energy depletion, lizzys sight blurred till she passed out only hearing one sound before her consciousness faded.
"Ding! The host has completed the Main task "Granny's Avenger" rewards have been deposited in the inventory space"
