Bab 59: Impending Doom

I grabbed the prescription bottle and stuffed it into my pocket, answering the call not a moment later than the second ring. I heard a small grunt of acknowledgement from the other end of the line before my father's voice resounded in my ear.

"Darien, we're waiting for you. Shouldn't your lessons be over by now?" The man asked, his voice cold with words laced with innuendos despite being formulated like a question while I furrowed my brows together.

"You're waiting… where?" I bit my bottom lip, glancing upwards at the signboards for directions as I took larger strides towards the other wing of the building which I had initially told Cain to head towards.

"We're headed over to your mansion now. Make haste, I have no time to waste." The man instructed me as the call abruptly ended, leaving me with the dial tone beeping in my ear.

I halted in my steps, staring at my phone as the conversation was abruptly cut short while furrowing my brows together.
