Erdene glared at the man. His face was flushed from rage, and veins began to protrude from his forehead. He was about to charge into the crowd of people but thankfully Liam and the others intervened. Luke just stared nervously at Erdene.
"Grandpa, what's wrong? Why are you suddenly acting like that?"
"Wrong? What's wrong?! Didn't you hear that?! They just said my name wrong! Those obnoxious scumbags!"
Snow looked at Erdene with concern and began to look around her. She then notices that a lot of people are staring at them; they are gaining attention as a result of the uproar Erdene is causing.
"Grandpa! Please keep it to a minimum! Many people are staring at us!"
Erdene scowled even more.
"I don't care! Let me poke their eyes out! How dare they still get my name wrong after all these years! This is the sole reason why I left!"
Luke returned his attention to Erdene after surveying the stares they were receiving.
"Shh! We get it, grandpa, you are upset but could you please tone it down? We can't risk drawing attention to ourselves!"
Erdene gritted his teeth and panted heavily. Erdene finally calmed down after a few short but heavy breaths and the group that had been bowing and worshipping earlier had also finished and began to walk away. Luke just sighed as he looked at this.
"Even though the Eastern continent appears to be advanced, it appears that some things will not change no matter how far they advance, such as how they continue to worship Sprits in this manner."
Liam sighed and nodded.
"You are correct about that brother. Everything is so strange and new here; I want to get back home as soon as possible."
Luke and Snow exchanged nods.
"I agree with you."
"So let's get going and get Klein to his wife and daughter."
Klein regarded this with hesitancy.
"I'm getting nervous now; I can't believe I'm going to meet them so soon."
Liam reassured Klein with a smile and a pat on the back.
"Don't be nervous; you worked hard to get this far for them. You deserve to see them."
"Thank you. Liam."
Klein seemed to have calmed down after Liam smiled. Luke looked at this with a slightly surprised expression. As expected, with Liam's calm and kind aura, anyone would calm down after talking to him.
"Uncle Liam is as gentle as an angel."
Luke looked at Snow, who was staring at Liam in awe. Luke simply sighed and patted her on the head.
"What do you expect? This is Liam we are talking about."
'He is literally the novel's second main character; it is understandable that he has the charisma of the main character.'
"Now, now, enough wasting time, let's go."
Luke nodded to Erdene as he began to speak and walk away. The others noticed this and began to trail behind them as they looked around the Eastern Continent.
The architecture on the Eastern continent is similar to that of the early twentieth century, and the people walking down the street wear fashionable clothes that are not commonly seen on the Western continent. The carriages are very vintage-styled, giving Luke the impression that he has truly time-traveled to the early twentieth century- but, of course, he must not forget that magic still exists in this world, so he should not be surprised to see potion shops or mage performers on the streets.
'Perhaps I should go bring Lance some ideas for the kingdom. This place looks more advanced than I thought so Lance would probably love this.'
Luke and the others then continue to walk around, taking in their surroundings- but, of course, Luke would not forget why they came here in the first place: Klein's family. Luke only needs to go to their location, which he requested from Marcel, and then return home once everything is completed.
"I recall them telling me that their address is near the... Oh."
Erdene and the others came to a halt and looked at Luke, puzzled. Luke abruptly stopped talking and walking, causing the rest to do the same. Liam was concerned as he looked at Luke's dumbfounded expression.
"What's the matter, brother?"
Luke didn't say anything and simply began to raise his finger in a specific direction. The others were initially baffled, but as they turned their heads in that direction, they all froze in shock. Klein, the most shocked, appears to be on the verge of becoming a statue.
They all just stood there quietly looking at the crowd of children talking and laughing with each other as they walked out of a restaurant. They appear to be school students because they all wear the same uniform. The children all appeared to be having a good time while talking to the child who appears to be the social group's center- and the child at the center of the group is someone Klein has wanted to see for years.
"Lizzie..."
Lizzie turned her head towards them as if she had heard him. Klein has no idea why, but he instinctively hid behind Liam, causing Erdene to frown.
"Hey, that is your daughter right there, come out and greet her."
Klein clenched his fists on Liam's cloth fabric and began to shake uncontrollably.
"R-Ridiculous! Do you think it's that simple?"
Liam smiled hesitantly and addressed the terrified old man behind him.
"I believe you should, Sir Klein-"
"I know! I know!"
While Klein was trying to calm himself out, he then flinched when he heard Snow talking from a distance.
"Hello, your name is Lizzie, right?"
"Aaaahhhhh- oof!"
Klein immediately closes his mouth to prevent himself from shouting aloud. He can't believe it, he needs a mere child, Snow, to do him a favor and call his daughter for him! So humiliating!
"Hey, hey Klein."
"What?!"
Klein jerks his head around, noticing Luke's face in front of him. Klein looked baffled when he saw Luke offer him some flowers. Luke noticed his confusion and sighed.
"Gift your daughter some fun and colorful flowers. I just got these from the flower shop nearby. Now be a man and face your daughter."
"I... Can I really do it?"
"Yes, just give your daughter this bouquet of flowers- wait what if the others misunderstood and call us a bunch of pedophiles-"
"What?! That is my daughter you fool!"
"But people don't know that."
"I- give me that!"
"Dad?"
Klein and Luke were frozen in place when they heard the voice of an unknown girl. They both slowly turned their heads in the direction of the voice, and Lizzie looked at them both, baffled. Klein's brow began to sweat profusely as he observed his daughter's shocked and perplexed expression. Klein then flinched when he felt Luke nudging his sides. Klein gave Luke a brief look before gulping and presenting the flowers to his daughter.
"I... Here, for you... I am glad to see you again, you've grown, Lizzie."
While looking at Klein, Lizzie bit her lip and tears welled up in her eyes. Her face is also turning red from not allowing herself to cry too much. Klein and the others just looked at this with wide eyes. They are starting to panic about what they should do. While Luke was confused about what to do, he felt someone yanking the back of his collar and starts to drag him away from Klein. Luke looked at who is dragging him and saw Erdene.
"Grandpa-"
"Shh, let the old man spend some time with his daughter."
Luke remained silent for a moment before turning to look at Klein, who is nervously fidgeting around Lizzie. He appeared to be debating whether to hug her or wipe her tears away. However, Klein doesn't need to choose as his daughter immediately jumps to him and gave him a big hug. Klein was seemed stunned for a moment before breaking down and hugging his daughter back.
Luke and the others were deafeningly silent. Liam and Snow smiled slightly while Erdene and Luke just sighed.
"Well, I guess we don't need to do the effort of finding his family's location now."
"Lizzie? Who are you with?"
Luke sighed as he heard another unfamiliar voice from afar.
"Oh boy, here we go."
"Lizzie?"
An old lady looked at Lizzie and Klein with wariness. Klein just stared at the lady, his eyes trembling as he looks at her. Erdene simply sighed and crossed his arms.
"The wife is here."
