"Did Ava make it home safely?"
Liam nodded, his gaze fixed on Luke, who was rummaging through papers on his desk. Luke then asked another question while examining the papers.
"And what about Jay, Selena, Lina, and Yulia? Did everyone return to the island?"
"They were teleported back earlier this morning by Spencer."
"That's good; the fewer people we have to bring, the better. How about Klein? Is he prepared?"
Liam nodded and smiled once more.
"Yes, he smiled as he waited patiently in the royal lobby."
Luke came to a halt, which prompted Liam to question him. Liam became concerned when he noticed Luke sighing and covering his face with his palm.
"Is there a problem, brother? Are you all right?"
Luke remained silent and frowned. Klein would have to wait a little longer because Luke would have to do a mission halfway through the journey, which made Luke feel bad. He then intended to send Klein straight to the East, but then realized he needed to be with Klein to explain his deal and rewards to his wife and daughter. After all, he has to keep his end of the bargain and be present as a nobleman with whom Klein works. It would be impolite to simply send a letter and cut all ties with Klein after working so hard with the Iron Giant.
Also, because of Klein's history of mistreatment of his family, Luke believes Klein requires some sort of support in order to talk it out with his wife.
Luke sighed deeply and scratched his head. Liam just looked at it, concerned, but flinched when he saw Luke suddenly stand up and take the papers with him.
"Where are you going, Brother?"
"I'll go see Klein, and then we'll leave as soon as we can, so get the kids."
When Liam and Luke exited the room, he nodded and parted ways. Luke went down the right hallway, while Liam went down the left. Maids greeted Luke while he was walking. They all bowed and some even stopped what they were doing to look at him. Luke simply ignored the maids who were staring at him and continued walking. When Luke arrived at the royal lobby, he noticed Klein patiently sitting with large suitcases beside him. Luke just stood there staring at him for five seconds before approaching him. Klein finally noticed him and smiled.
"Luke! You've arrived!"
"Yes... it appears that you are well prepared."
"Of course! I even bought clothes and souvenirs for my wife and daughter! "
Luke pursed his lips and sat across from Klein on the opposite couch, looking him dead in the eyes. Klein gulped as he stared at him in silence.
"Wait a minute, why are you staring at me like that?"
Luke sighed and rubbed his head.
"Klein... Can you wait a day or two longer?"
Klein then looked at Luke, perplexed.
"Sorry? What exactly do you mean?"
"Well, you see..."
Luke then began to explain the mission to Klein. Klein was completely taken aback the entire time he was explaining the mission's contents. Klein simply gasped in surprise when Luke finished.
"Princess of the Eastern Continental Empire? What the hell?!"
"Yes... It was a sudden and vexing task that was assigned to me. So... Are you willing to wait a little longer?"
"Sure."
Luke sat up in his seat, wide-eyed, and looked at Klein. He noticed Klein fidgeting with his fingers.
"I... I was a little nervous because I was about to face my wife and child, whom I hadn't seen in years, and I needed to prepare what I was going to say to them. I only bought souvenirs and dresses to avoid having to talk to them face to face... I am honestly not ready yet..."
Luke simply stared at Klein. Luke then nodded, as if he had grasped the situation.
"Then that's perfect. You will still have time."
"Yeah... But..."
When Luke heard the word 'but,' he looked at Klein. When he saw Klein looking at him like a scolding father, he gulped.
"You had better promise me that there will be no more detours after your mission. You'd better thank your lucky stars that I'm a little nervous right now, or I'd have spanked your buttocks with a stick by now! You obnoxious brat!"
"Ah... Y-yeah..."
Luke sighed as he averted his gaze from Klein's.
"Good morning, Dad!"
"Uncle Liam said we were about to leave?"
When Luke and Klein heard children's voices approaching, they turned their gaze to the side. Luke then noticed Nash and Snow dressed up and walking towards him. Liam is smiling as he follows behind them. Luke then addressed them.
"Yes, we are going to leave now, actually."
Klein then turned his gaze to Luke. Klein exhaled a sigh.
"I guess I'll stay here for a while, huh?"
"Who said you were going to be left behind?"
Klein then abruptly turned his head toward Luke, his eyes wide. Klein then inquired, his eyes wide with perplexity.
"Wait, am I accompanying you to save the princess?"
"No, of course not."
"Then where am I supposed to stay while you are dealing with the pirates?! At the bottom of the sea, among the fishes?!"
"Yes."
"Wait a minute, what?!?"
Klein was unable to continue speaking as a teleportation circle formed beneath their feet. Klein's vision was then obstructed by bright light, rendering him nearly blind, so he closed his eyes shut while having no idea what the hell was going on.
'I knew this kid will do something ridiculous! I should have just stayed at home!'
Klein frowned as he noticed the light fading. It means they were successfully teleported. With his eyes closed, Klein could hear Luke's voice.
"You may now open your eyes."
Klein paused for a moment before opening his eyes to see Luke. His eyes widened in surprise.
"A-ah... Aaaaaahhh!!!"
Klein then took a step back, clutching his chest as if he were having a heart attack. Fortunately, Liam caught him from behind and attempted to calm him down. Klein then looked around with his shaking eyes, completely overwhelmed.
"W-we... We're underwater!!"
Luke nodded as Klein is hyperventilating beside him.
"This is the domain of the Water Spirit, Mira."
Klein then turned to face Luke, panting heavily.
"S-spirit?! Oh my goodness!!!"
Luke frowned as he looked at Klein, who was on the verge of passing out.
"Why are you so surprised?"
Klein's mouth widened as he pointed at Luke.
"Why am I surprised?! You buffoon! You think being underwater and entering a Spirit's domain is normal?! "
Luke scratched his head. Luke expected Klein to be shocked and flabbergasted, but Klein screaming and hyperventilating was not at all what Luke expected.
"Dad if he is that surprised then imagine his reaction when he sees my true form and Grandma Mira..."
Nash's words were met with a sigh and a nod from Luke.
"Oh? What brings you here?"
Luke turned his head to see Mira, Marina, and Trent approaching them. Klein's trembling eyes then focused on the tattoos on Marina and Trent's shoulders.
"M-mermaids... Oh lord..."
Mira came to a halt and looked at Klein with a puzzled expression.
"What's up with him? He looks like he is about to die."
Klein then took a step back, his gaze fixed on Mira.
"W-what... W-who-"
Luke then provided an answer to his question.
"Klein, meet Mira, the Spirit of the Water."
Nash, who had reverted to his original form, jumped out and smiled at Klein.
"And now, meet me! Nash Clodwal!"
Klein breathed heavily while pointing at Nash's true form.
"S-Spirit of the Water... N-Nash..."
When Luke, Liam, Nash, Marina, and Trent saw Klein blackout and fall, their eyes widened.
"Klein!"
Just as when Klein was about to completely fall to the ground, Liam caught him while looking at him nervously.
"Klein? Hey? Klein?!"
Mira then looked at Klein, as if she had anticipated this.
"He's too old so his heart must be weak to these kinds of revelations. Poor human, rest in peace."
Luke then looked at Mira in disbelief.
"Hey hey! Don't just assume he's dead on the spot!"
'His wife is going to kill me, damn it!'
"Huh? Oh, he's still alive?"
"You... Marina!"
Marina then flinched and looked at Luke in shock.
"Y-yes?"
"Could you please give Klein immediate treatment and a room?!"
"Huh? Oh, yes! I'll summon healers right away!"
Marina then dashed towards the palace, while Trent led them straight to Mira's mansion. Mira, Nash, and Snow, who had been left behind, just stared blankly at this.
"Humans sure are needy."
"Indeed, but my dad is needier."
"That is something I agree with you on."
The three of them agreed with a nod.
"What's up with the early morning commotion?"
The three then turned to face the source of the voice. Nash smiled and dashed towards the source of the voice.
"Grandpa!"
Nash then flew energetically around Erdene, who only sighed.
"If you are here then I assume that brat is with you as well?
Mira nodded and pointed with her thumb to her mansion.
"He just dashed into my mansion with Liam together with an old human."
"An old human?"
Nash gave a nod.
"She is talking about Klein!"
Erdene paused for a moment before making an expression as if he realized what was going on.
"I see, the old inventor. What exactly is he doing here?"
Snow then responded.
"He'll stay here for a day or two while Dad finishes a mission."
Erdene's lips twitched next.
"A mission?"
Nash then nodded vigorously.
"Yeah! He will make a princess go home!"
Mira then shook her head.
"Is that it? Is that even deserving of the title "mission"?"
Snow then responded.
"He will get the Princess of the Empire of the Eastern continent from pirates."
The surrounding area was then deafeningly quiet. Mira simply nodded while Erdene frowned deeply and looked stressed.
"I see... He'll die then."
Nash then flew directly in front of Mira's face.
"He's not going to! Dad's got me!"
"Oh, well, I suppose he's a lucky human to have you by his side."
"Right? Dad is extremely fortunate to have me!"
Nash then began to act smug, while Mira simply smirked at him. Mira then turned her gaze to Snow. Mira's eyes immediately sharpened.
"You must be the artificial Spirit of the Ice."
Snow remained silent for a brief moment before slowly nodding.
"Yes..."
"It's amazing how far humans have progressed for the worse. They even accomplished the impossible. They must be on their high horse right now since they are able to make a Spirit and disturb the balance of the world..."
Snow just lowered her gaze to the ground even more. She is embarrassed to be in the presence of the true Spirits. She is even ashamed to say she is a Spirit because she was a phony created by human greed. After being with Luke for a short amount of time, she thought she could escape this fact but it seems that she cannot really run away from it.
"Hey."
Snow then raised her head in response to Mira's call and flinched when she noticed Mira looking at her with a serious expression. She began to stutter as a result of her shock.
"Y-yes?"
Mira stared at her silently for a moment before breaking into a wide smile and patting Snow on the shoulders. Snow was taken aback by Mira's actions. Snow looked at Mira's deep ocean-blue eyes with shock. Mira then began to speak to her.
"I like you, you are a strong kid. If you want to completely annihilate those Dark Eye bastards and take revenge, just say the word and I will fully support you."
Snow was perplexed as she looked at Mira, who was smiling at her. Nash then landed on Mira's shoulder and smiled at her.
"Yeah! Just say the word, and I'll come to your aid, big sis! Grandpa will also help! Right, Grandpa?"
Nash and Snow raised their heads towards Erdene. Erdene simply crossed his arms and sighed as he nodded.
"Well, I hate those guys so I will help you have revenge while I am at it."
Mira then chuckled and elbowed Erdene in the arms, causing Erdene to frown.
"You're acting like a girl. Just say you want to help the kid."
Erdene frowned deeply as she gazed down at Mira.
"I said what I had to say."
"Sure, old man."
"Hey! You're almost as old as I am, granny!"
Mira then glared at Erdene with a thug's expression.
"Haaa? Who are you talking to? I'm still a young lady!"
Nash and Snow just sighed as they watched the two elderly people argue about their ages. With their current ages, they are clearly older than every living being on the planet, rendering their argument pointless. They should just accept it; they are both old as hell.
Nash and Snow simply smiled at each other while ignoring the two arguing. Nash then spoke up to Snow.
"Even if Grandma and Grandpa looked like that, they are very powerful! And also considerate! So they will definitely help you in the best way they can! Dad and I will also do the same! So don't be sad, we will support you!"
