"It's been a long time, Brother Noah."
Noah gave Luke a scowl.
"Learn how to visit next time."
"I will."
"Che."
Noah simply frowned, and Luke smirked. Luke then turned his gaze to Finesse, who is carrying Ethan.
"Hello, Ethan, and hello to you, sister."
Finesse smiled softly at Luke who greeted them while Luke just shook hands with Ethan's small hands. Luke then turned to face Finesse, who was still smiling at her.
"It appears that your face has improved since the last time I saw you."
Finesse then laughed.
"No, not really; taking care of the baby's needs on a daily basis is also difficult."
"Well, it appears that you are doing well."
"Thank you very much. By the way, brother, you look very handsome in that uniform."
"Really? Are you sure you're not teasing me? "
Finesse laughed.
"Of course, I'm being truthful."
"Now, now, don't talk like that sister; your husband may become envious."
"Who are you accusing of being envious?"
Finesse and Luke turned to face Noah, who had a grumpy expression on his face. Luke and Finesse simply sighed and shook their heads. Even though Noah claims he is not jealous, it is clear that he is.
"Dad, take a look! Uncle Lance and I have identical hair!"
Luke, Noah, and Finesse turned around to see Lance carrying Nash and Nash pointing to his own and Lance's heads as if to say they have identical hairstyles. Lance simply laughed.
"You are right; we do have the same hairstyle."
Luke looked at Nash's hair, now that he noticed it, Nash's hair is also swept back just like how Lance's hair is styled. From a distance, they appear to be a loving family due to the cheerful atmosphere. Luke and Noah just stared blankly at this, and Noah then tapped his shoulders.
"Hey, when did you get another child? Didn't you only have Snow before?"
"It is a long story."
Luke and Noah continued to stare at Lance, who was cheerfully carrying Nash in his arms. Noah couldn't help himself and tapped Luke's shoulders once more.
"Are you sure he's your kid and not Lance's?"
"I'm not even sure now..."
Luke and Noah fell silent. Then they both sighed.
"This is the first time I've seen His Highness smiling at a child."
"Really?"
Noah gave a nod.
"He'll either ignore the other kids or just stare at them with an uninterested expression. Your children may have been the first to receive a smile and a treat from him."
"Ho..."
Luke made a slightly impressed expression. It seems that even his highness's stone-cold heart for kids could be melted by Nash and Snow's charms. The power of those kids is truly a terrifying force to be reckoned with.
Luke's attention then turned when he heard Lance calling for him.
"All right, let's go, it's time to come in."
Luke nodded and moved to the front of the crowd. The entrance sequence is determined by your noble status, so as the lowest noble and the leader of the group, he chose to come first. Luke gave a satisfied nod.
'This is such an ideal location. Because I am a nobody, I should come first.'
Luke hummed under his breath and smiled. He was so preoccupied with himself that he didn't notice the strange looks the guards were giving him. The guards then turned to look at the rest of the group, and they noticed them staring at Luke with an odd expression. Lance, who is in the far back, sighed and rubbed his face with his palm before stepping forward and yanking Luke's body towards the back, which surprised Luke.
"What the-? Where are you taking me, Your Highness?"
Luke then looked at Lance's irritated expression directed at him.
"Why are you in the front, you moron?"
Luke cocked his head to the side and looked at Lance, puzzled.
"Because my noble status says so?"
Lance stared blankly at Luke as if Luke were the most pathetic and stupid person he'd ever seen in his life. Lance had the desire to smack his head, but he restrained himself and instead grabbed both of Luke's shoulders and placed him properly next to him. Luke remained silent for a brief moment before posing a question.
"Um, what am I doing here?"
"You are going to walk in with me."
"Why with you?"
"Because you are the beloved hero of the kingdom and my younger brother."
"But I am a lowly noble."
"Your noble status is indeed low, yes, but your influence and popularity are not."
Luke frowned deeply as he opened and closed his mouth several times.
"Isn't walking behind a duke impolite? At the very least, I should be in front of Noah."
Instead of Lance answering, Noah answered for him. Luke turned his gaze to Noah, who was casually playing with Ethan, who was in Finesse's arms.
"It's fine, and you've worked hard enough to deserve to walk with his highness."
Luke made a lost and confused expression. He tried to open and close his mouth a few times to respond, but he couldn't say anything. He then looks around at the rest of his group and notices them giving him a thumbs-up as if to say his position is fine. Lance smirked as he looked at this.
"See? Now don't complain anymore."
"Haa..."
Lance secretly smiled triumphantly and motioned for the guards to open the door. The guards nodded and pushed open the door. The announcer then fakes a cough to warm up his voice before shouting as loudly as he could to announce their arrival, which immediately drew the attention of those who are inside.
"The company of the Back Coat Hero is now making an appearance!!!"
The guests all turned to look as Luke's group entered one by one.
"The young swordmaster who is also the commander's right-hand man. The courageous Fiery Knight, Liam!"
Liam slowly entered with his cool and serious face. The guests gulped as they looked at this; Liam's face was so intimidating that it was difficult not to gulp.
"The 22nd Archmage and his four siblings! Spencer, Lily, Jessa, Josh, and Michael Sujin have entered!"
The nobles' gaze was drawn immediately to Spencer. Their stare at Spencer is so obvious and greedy that Spencer scowled at them, causing them to look away. They then chose to focus solely on who would arrive next.
"The talented inventor, the man in the Iron Giant! Klein Schwarz!"
Klein then walked in slowly, a humble smile on his face. The nobles who Klein smiled at also smiled back to keep their friendliness. In a good mood, the nobles then wait for the next person to arrive.
"It's the Sai-!"
When he noticed Selena and Yulia's cold stares directing towards him, the announcer came to a halt and gulped his words. Lina then took a step closer and spoke coldly to the announcer.
"Hey, we don't like it when you announce our identities so loudly like that. We prefer you just saying our names, okay?"
The announcer gulped and shook his head up and down repeatedly. Lina's face brightened and she patted his shoulder. That is his cue to announce them. The announcer gulped down his nervousness and spoke.
"Miss Selena! Miss Yulia! Miss Lina! Young Master Nash! And Young Miss Snow has come!"
The nobles exchanged puzzled looks as they tried to figure out who these people were. They already know who Selena, Lina, Yulia, and Snow are, but they're not sure who Nash is. They had never heard that name before, nor did they know where he came from. They then looked at Nash and gasped when they saw Nash and Snow standing side by side in luxurious attire.
Their eyes are the same, but their hair is not. Their aura and demeanor, however, suggest that they are siblings. And they also look like they resemble a certain someone...
The nobles wanted to learn more about these children but were quickly distracted when the announcer called out another familiar name.
"The necromancer and the giants' representatives! Jay and Ava!"
The banquet fell silent as they watched Jay and Ava stride confidently through the hall. The noble's gaze followed them for a moment before returning to the announcer.
"The Duke and Duchess Viscellete, as well as Young Master Ethan Viscellete!"
Noah and Finesse then entered the banquet hall calmly. The noble's gaze then shifted to Ethan, whom Finesse is carrying. This is the first time the Viscellete's official heir has made an appearance in public.
The nobles' stares didn't last for too long as soon as they heard the final call.
"And finally, for the last grand entrance..."
Inside the banquet hall, everyone stiffened. The announcer hasn't said their name yet but they already knew who will come last and final. It's the one they've all been waiting for.
"Commander Luke Viscellete and His Highness, Lance Sherodd!"
All of the guests focused their attention on the open door. They all gulped as they noticed two figures walking into the light. Their hairs glistened under the bright light of the chandeliers, highlighting their silver and gold hairs. Their prominent and majestic face, combined with their fancy and sparkling gold-laced clothes, both look breathtaking, causing some of the guests inside to have their mouths slightly open in awe.
Two of the most powerful figures have entered.
