Luke is busy eating cookies and breathing while looking out the window. He was so busy that he didn't even have time to stand up. He does nothing but eat and sleep. What a truly busy day.
"Haa, I wish it could stay this way forever."
Luke mumbled while looking outside with a peaceful expression. He feels like he is a calm river that is peacefully going with the flow... Tranquility and peace.
"DAD!"
And the peace was gone. The once-calm river was now roiled by a slew of ripples and waves. Luke frowned and looked at Nash, who broke his peace.
"What?"
Luke then saw Nash's distressed face. Nash then flew towards the window and pointed his paws outside the window. Luke frowned and looked outside the window and saw Erdene standing on the edge of the island while looking at the ocean. He then heard Nash's worried voice.
"I think grandpa is going to jump! I tried to call him but he seemed to not hear me! Help him, dad!"
Luke sighed and went outside. He wanted to ignore Nash, but seeing his worried and concerned expression made it impossible for him to say no. He doesn't like to see children looking like that. He then approached Erdene, who appeared to be zoning out on the ledge.
'Is he really going to jump? I doubt it.'
Luke then approached Erdene and lightly tapped his shoulder.
"Hey, grandpa? Hey."
Luke called Erdene, but Erdene didn't even budge. Luke frowned and started to shake Erdene's shoulder.
"Hey? Hey! Grandpa!"
After almost shouting into Erdene's face, Erdene seemed to have snapped out of it and frowned at Luke.
"What is it brat?"
"What are you doing on the edge? Nash is concerned about you."
Erdene then saw Nash's concerned face over Luke's shoulder and sighed.
"I... I was trying to find my sibling."
"Sibling?"
Erdene nodded and looked down at the ocean. Luke also looked down at the ocean and realized who Erdene's 'sibling' was.
"Is it... The Spirit of the Water? Mira?"
"Correct, it seems that you know a lot."
Luke didn't answer. It is only natural to know since he read about them in the novel.
The Spirit of Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind. They are Nature Spirits who have existed since the beginning of time. They were created to protect this world and keep the world's balance going. But as human civilization grew, they were afraid that human greed would take advantage of their natural powers for their own personal gain and decided to hide. Like how Erdene hid in the Dessert of Souls to hide in his mystical forest. It is the same for other Spirits.
While Luke was recalling the information he read about the novel, Erdene spoke up.
"I'm going to jump down."
"Pardon?"
Luke looked at Erdene with a dazed expression. He then heard Erdene's frustrated voice.
"I'll... I'll try to search for her."
"Excuse me? You want to search for her in this very vast ocean?"
'Are you nuts?'
Luke held himself back from saying the last line and just looked at Erdene in disbelief. Erdene frowned.
"It is faint, but I can sense her."
"What do you even need from her?"
Erdene was silent for a while before answering.
"Now that such scumbags as the Dark Eye have appeared and are specifically targeting Spirits, I need to see if they've already taken her. It would be disastrous if Dark Eye also got her."
Luke looked at Erdene and sighed in frustration. He then scratched his head and activated his [Guardian Wings]. Pure white wings then stretched out from Luke's shoulder blades and opened wide. Erdene saw this and was surprised.
"Wait, what are you-?"
"I know someone that might know where she is. Come with me. "
Luke then jumped down and glided down the vast ocean. Nash followed behind him with an excited face. Erdene just looked down at them in disbelief. He then sighed and floated down, supported by a clump of leaves. The leaves gathered below his feet, then slowly but elegantly floated down, following Luke and Nash. Luke then stopped right below the water and took out a shell from his pocket. Nash recognized the shell and exclaimed.
"Dad, are we going to call him?!"
Luke nodded and Nash made an excited face. While Erdene was just there, looking at both of them as if they were weird. Luke then blew up the shell.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
A loud, but gentle noise came out of the shell. Luke then looked into the distance while putting the shell back into his pocket. He then noticed the water trembling and waves forming. He's here. That was fast.
Soon, large tentacles appeared beneath the ocean and a large octopus head soon appeared before them. Water splashed everywhere, but thanks to Erdene's green mana shield, Luke and Nash were spared. Erdene looked at the massive tentacle monster that was slowly making its way to the water's surface. When the monster fully surfaced, Luke, Nash, and Erdene looked up at it and Erdene gasped.
"A.... Kraken? You are acquainted with a Kraken?"
"His name is Plankton."
"And you even named it....."
Kiiiiii!
Plankton greeted Nash, who was approaching him, by waving his tentacles side by side. Nash did the same with his paws with a big smile on his face.
"Nice to see you again, Plankton!"
"Kiii!"
Luke then butted in.
"Plankton, I need your help."
"Kiiii?"
Plankton then focused his attention on Luke. Luke then started to speak.
"Do you know where the Spirit of the Water, Mira is?"
Plankton was silent for a moment before looking at Erdene, who was looking at him. His eyes then widened. Then Erdene spoke up.
"I need to meet with her."
"Kiiiii!"
Plankton nodded and pointed to his round head. Luke regarded this and spoke, pointing to his head.
"You want us..... To hop in?"
"Kiiiiii!!!"
Plankton nodded and Luke looked at him weirdly. But Erdene and Nash had already sat on Plankton's head before he could even say anything. Erdene and Nash then looked at him.
"What are you doing all spaced out in there? Hop in."
"Dad! Sit here! Sitting on Plankton's head is fun!"
Luke sighed and sat down on Plankton's head. It is quite slippery, but it is not enough to make you fall or slide down. Luke then deactivated his wings. Plankton then started to move in the water with his head sticking out where Luke, Nash, and Erdene were sitting. Luke just crossed his arms and let the wind blow into his face while Nash was smiling uncontrollably. Erdene also just looked at the ocean while trying to concentrate on sensing Mira.
Luke looked away, his silver long hair and black coat fluttering in the breeze. Plankton's head is slippery, but it is comfortable to ride on. He feels like he is riding on a high-speed yacht right now. He then remembered how his wealthy coworkers at his previous job used to brag about their million-dollar yacht speeding across the ocean. So this is what he is talking about. But it seems that Plankton is much faster than his coworker's yacht. They are zooming through the ocean at a high speed.
'Wow, this feels nice. So this is what rich people feel when they are on their million-dollar cruise or yacht. Maybe I should call Plankton frequently and ask for a ride around the ocean.'
After an hour of riding through the ocean, Plankton finally stopped. Erdene then stepped forward while looking down into the deep water below.
"She's here."
