PROLOGUE: Stealing the heart of lady Maribelle
Fate is strange and yet sometimes a blessing in disguise.....
Who thought someone as messed up and sly as me would end up with a level-headed and beautiful girl and no ordinary girl, the daughter of the Emperor.

We met when I was 12 and she was only 10 years old, but love has no boundaries or limitations, so it was love at first sight for the two young children.
Of course, I didn't know what love was back then but I felt something strange yet attractive, so fortunately fate gave us a wild opportunity that I had denied in the past but had to avail of in the future as the circumstances had changed drastically.
We were no longer star-crossed lovers in fact we were pawns in the great war. I literally stole the bride-to-be of the evil Duke's son and ran away as fast as I could, but I had reasons for my traitorous actions. As I would never let that scumbag marry my lady and as the son of the Captain of the Royal guard I had to protect my country from the evil schemes of the Duke, who had already taken over several states...
So when we both ran away, we ran away as the Son of the honorable Royal guard's captain and the Imperial Princess but I was remembered as the traitorous rogue who had abducted the poor Imperial Princess. Of course, no one ever found out that Lady Maribelle practically begged me to steal her away from the hands of that scumbag lord.
And so I could never ignore her wish so I risked my life, honor, and rank for this beautiful lady that claimed me to be hers and hers alone.
