IRID
I feel the Python collide with the pillar with a jolt that ran through my entire body, down my spine and into the tip of my fingernails. I get thrown around the plane, bumping my head into something solid, causing hot blood to drip down to my chin. I most certainly broke a rib or two, maybe even fractured my skull. At least, I'm fairly certain that I'm not okay.
The collision causes a loud explosion, presumably our engine finally heaving its last.
I open my eyes, gasping, my lungs longing for air as the dirt rose high up when we crashed.
Breathe, Irid, breathe! Breathe and…
Shit, shit!
"Lieutenant Song!" I shout out, seeing that it was our door side that bumped into that pillar.
"Still here," the lieutenant's stoic voice replies, a bit strained, but thankfully still present.
"Oh thank goodness," I somehow utter, despite nothing being desirable about us being in a plane that's still spiraling down to solid earth.
