Bab 44: Unconscious

"How is her condition?" Yan Mei asked Zheng Fan, the best imperial physician. 

Shao Chen was lying stiff on a soft and tender bed inside a temporary empty room. It was once occupied by the late emperor, Guang's father, favorite concubine and had been emptied since Guang had never taken multiple wives. 

Shao Chen's pale face was gradually getting back its color. His chest was moving up and down, breathing steadily although still a bit weaker than normal. However, his eyes was still closed tightly, did not have any sign to open any time soon. 

Zheng Fan put the medication tools back into the wooden box. "She had been poisoned … . "

Yan Mei almost lost her breath. Chen Guang patted her back to ease her.
