Bab 15: 15. New Dawn
Groups of people went from store to store and cleaned out all the debris and dead as they repurposed the stores for housing and storage. The earth mage named Brock assisted in clearing and leveling the ground for the walls foundation. Kelly was using her druid job to help plants take root and grow in a garden drug in the middle of the parking lot that's had been fenced off.
"2 hours is all this took" Chris walked up to Sam and said. Sam was amazed and happy about the progress given the world went to hell only 48 hours earlier. Old man Tom walked over to Sam and Chris.
"Our heroes finally awaken huh" He said sarcastically as he signaled for them to follow him. Walking to a table with a drawing on it Tom went over the ground work of what the community would become.
"Tom thank you for all that you have done" Sam said respectfully as Tom just waved him off. Chris moved back to his knights for more training as Sam continued to scout around and help when needed. 3-4 hours past as lunch is served to all the workers as major progress has been made. A almost 5 meter tall 3 meter thick wall has jutted up linking the grocery store and the shops on one side together. Sturdy wood and steel towers dot the grocery store roof and the other shops roof.
"Sam we are going to scout the sub division were the cannibals came from and we need your help" Truth asked Sam for help looking for more people and supplies. Sam cleaned himself up and followed Truth and Chris's small group.
"Keep your eyes peeled for anything we don't truly know what changes the Apocalypse has brought" Sam reminded everyone as he equipped his chest piece. Everyone nodded and equipped their items as the move to the sub division. After a short walk they walked to the first house that had been ransacked by cannibals. Searching for useful supplies San marked each house that had still had useful items with red spray paint empty houses were marked with black paint.
"16 houses and only 4 had any useful items" Chris complained to Sam as they continued searching. Moving to the next street Sam saw movement in a two story house as they moved towards it.
"Is anybody inside we aren't hostile" Chris yelled out as they opened the front door.
"Please don't hurt us we are just looking for food" A women's voice sounded out.
"Please come outside we promise we're not enemies" Truth yelled back this time as 2 middle aged woman and young man and 3 kids walked out. Sam pulled some candy out of his backpack and gave it to the older women as Chris pulled out some bottles water.
"Thank you Thank you" The lady cried out at the sight of food and water.
"We are building a camp the the grocery store make your way there if you need a safe place to stay" Truth told the women about there community. They agreed right away as Chris sent a knight to escort them back to the camp. 3 hours past as the group continues to search and mark houses only 6 more people could be found before they had to turn back. The travel back was uneventful as Sam Dispatched only a hand full of cannibals.
"I think we killed most of the areas cannibals yesterday" Chris swung the flesh bits off his mace talking to Sam.
"You took out that horde of cannibals" A skinny survivor asked in awe. Sam nodded to the question as the survivors clamored in excitement. Walking for almost a hour the group could see the wall that was being constructed and the survivors cheered. With new found stamina the group moved even quicker as a look out spotted Sam.
"Sam, Chris see you found a few more" Jenna yelled out waving at the group. Bane walked out with a small cohort of skeletons to meet Sam and escort him back.
"Master 2 more of the skeletons have awakened" Bane told Sam as he escorted them. Sam got closer and started to receive a mass of notifications from the system.

Surprised by the increase of skills and increase in the power of a few skeletons Sam grew excited. The group walked into a common area in the repurposed parking lot. AJ meet the group with Kelly to register the new arrivals as Sam, Chris and Truth walked off to check on other areas. Sam jogged over to Tom seeing the old man still shouting and cursing at workers laying mortar.
"Old man How's it coming" Sam yelled out to Tom.
"Shove it Hero I got one good man and the rest are idiots" Tom berated the workers as he stumbled around on his cane. Tom made his way to the ground to talk to Sam.
"We should be able to get sides blocked off before we run out of mortar and bricks. None of the blasted electronic stuff works so we doing this old school. Now I hope I can get you to scout another area tomorrow, It's a large construction store and warehouse" Tom handed Sam a hand drawn map to a warehouse two miles out.
"I'll talk to the guys and set a trip tomorrow or the day after" Sam patted Tom's shoulder as he took the map and walked back to the grocery store turn headquarters.
