Bab 48: "Pancit Batil Patong"
Ezy and Aliyah went down the Tricycle relieved arriving at the location in one piece.
Ezy had a pale face from the roller coaster ride of the Tricycle while Aliyah was beaming with to joy of feeling the thrill that she when through.
The drive when in front of Ezy while rubbing his palms together like a merchant while lowering to Ezy's location and said."Young Master! I'll wait here until your finish to yo...."
Smack!!!!*Smack!!!!*
Aliyah and the driver were shocked Ezy slapped the driver while interrupting him from speaking.
"Sorry Manong, there was a mosquito on your cheeks and I kill it to save you from dengue," Ezy said while regaining some energy slapping the driver and gave 500 pesos as compensation for slapping.
"But what about the second," The driver said with a confused expression but change to a happy face seeing the cash was big while forgetting about the pain of the slap already.
"I wiped quickly the blood on your face to save you from embarrassment," Ezy said.
"But you slap the wrong place?" The driver thought while seeing Ezy moving his arm.
Ezy realized that he slapped the wrong cheek and started to move his arm thinking he can make another bonus slap.
Ezy saw the driver back away like a cat and waved at them happily while pocketing his easy cash and planning to buy two bottles Genebra shocking his Barkada(Close friends) in the night and get wasted.
Ezy saw an excited girl looking inside her "Hey Kitty" and change her expression to a sad face after realizing something.
"Why so sad Aliyah?"
"I....I....I don't have money...." Aliyah was embarrassed discovering that she forgot to bring her "Hey Kitty" purse.
Looking at Aliyah's disappointed face, Ezy asks."Why do you need money? A man always pays for the meal if he invites a woman to eat!" With a proud face but Aliyah didn't reply to him so Ezy turned around.
Ezy saw Aliyah's confused face and facepalm himself.
"Stupid! Stupid! I'm still a toddler!" Ezy thought and with a thick face and said. "If in the future a boy asks you to eat with him, It means he will pay for the meal while if the boy didn't pay, he is not a gentleman and lovable like me." Ezy turned around avoiding Aliyah's reply and pushed the glass door.
Ezy entered the Criseldas Food store and found a seat near the counter.
Criselda's Daungan is a restaurant with two levels of floor, ground floor is for everyone to use with the large menu hanging on the top of the counter for everyone to see while the second floor is for gathering of big groups who needs privacy and will be served booklets of the menu to choose.
"So what do you like to eat?" Ezy ask but saw Aliyah looking in one corner of the menu.
"So you like Pancit Batil Patong?"
" No.... I mean yes!.... I mean no.... but also yes....." Aliyah got flustered by Ezy.
"Well, I also liked it.... let's order a large portion of it and if we didn't finish it, I'll take out the remaining." Ezy ignored Aliyah's denial and went to the counter and ordered on a large portion of it.
Meanwhile,
When the cashier saw a two-child cane in, he was about to ask if they were lost and came inside to find someone but seeing them directly sit near the counter and looked at the menu, she laughs inside that if they have the money to pay for the food.
But he saw a familiar face of the boy and remembered something while his expression became relaxed and lazily went back to his position and received the other customer who just came inside to order.
After finishing the order, the cashier saw a cute smile boy in front of him and smiled.
"Young Master, who are you? How many I help you?"
"Kuya, don't call me that title.... just call me Ernesto." Ezy Smiled happily from the title but embarrassed to keep it in this country because it's not being used here.
Seeing the boy like being called like that, he continued using it and made Ezy happy and shy.
Ezy came back while a man holding two-box, Aliyah was confused about it but seeing what the man was doing, she realized that the table was too high for them but thanks to the boxes that were decorated neatly, they can now reach the tablewares.
With the help of the man, Ezy and Aliyah are now sitting beside each other and was waiting for their food to come.
Feeling the awkward situation, Ezy started to questioning Aliyah why she hates him making her motivated to bully him.
Aliyah seeing Ezy's sincere expression looks down and told Ezy her family story while also told him their situation and her feelings explaining why she bullies children around her making them hate her.
"I, mother, and my father come here to eat Pancit Batil Patong after going to the church mass on Sunday... It was my father's favorite so my mother replicates the Pancit Batil Patong making my father happy with my mother always cook it happily while humming in the kitchen."
"But everything changed one night and my father left the house and my mother started to hate the Pancit Batil Patong while avoiding the place and didn't anymore cook Pancit Batil Patong.....I have many happy memories eating this Pancit Batil Patong..... "
"It's not that I like it but I just what to eat it..."
Ezy just listened and time to time replied comforting Aliyah making her eyes reddish but Ezy throw some jokes to making her happy.
Ezy know the many children suffered family problems making their life miserable and changing their innocent childhood to mature in a bad and negative way while forming an unlikable personality detaching them from the people around them and using bad methods to gain attention from others while hurting others.
Ezy plans to help more children in his generation to live happily and be influenced by him while thinking if only there was no Apocalypse and just live a happy full filling life.
When the food came, they happily ate everything with gusto shocking themselves for finishing the food.
While they didn't know that someone pictured them eating cutely and planned to use this picture as the advertisement on a wall on one side of the restaurant while in the future, it will be filled with other couples eating this meal dish as a symbol of the good couple or telling someone their feelings about their love or just making peace to a friend making it awkward for the friends who ate together seeing their picture in the wall.
Ezy gave a large tip to the cashier and the man who helped to arrange them boxes while making them happy about the money and now waving at them enthusiastically on the way out.
"It's still early... let's walk going at my home and also introduce you to my friends..." Ezy smiled while looking at the road if it's safe for them to pass the road while unknowingly Aliyah holds Ezy's hand making Ezy grip it tightly unconsciously thinking holding children's hands in passing a road is a must.
"Ok..." while Aliyah was looking around curiously and observing the people around them, seeing them busy with their life.
The people around them were amused by their cute and adorable couple-like image of having a date while the tricycle drivers saw them want to pass the road and with a kind heart, they stopped unconsciously making a path for them.
Ezy thanked them with his charming cute smile and drag Aliyah who was still looking around curious about the world outside her car and a big house.
Everyone was mesmerized by their adorable innocent appearance walking away from them and they shake their heads while going to their busy life.
