Serenica helped in guiding the masses of people towards the hills. The Spade family let some of the evacuated stay in their house, which was a source of joy for many.

Now they merely had to wait in their crowded rooms filled with the complaints of farmers and merchants.

"Goodness, this is so exciting," Myorka said, clutching her pearl necklace. "I never thought life would be this exciting again."

"I'm going to get a few hours of sleep," Serenica said. "Wake me up at dawn."

She met her prince that night. The Dreamer had been waiting for her, anxiously shuffling his dream legs.

"A war is coming," he said bluntly. "A revolution, and then, a war. The public hanging of Guyl the Slack is going to happen."
