Bab 456: The Wedding

"Greetings, King Father, Greetings King." Zhou Huaijin and Gu Chaoyan bowed.

The King waved his hands, suggesting that they did not have to behave so strictly.

There were piles of documents lying on the desk in front of him. With only the Eunuch-in-Chief around, he looked quite exhausted. He pointed at the lower seats and asked, "Just take a seat."

He turned to the Eunuch-in-Chief and suggested that he should pour the tea.

Gu Chaoyan took the teacup and sipped the tea.

It was raw Pu'er tea being served, which made Gu Chaoyan frown. Raw Pu'er tea was a good sort of tea, but it was normally served in summer rather than in deep autumn, when tea tasted totally different.

Gu Chaoyan disliked the tea, so she used the teacup to warm herself up instead rather than drink it.

"You don't like tea, Lady Chaoyan?" The King put down the document as he was speaking with her, as he looked at Gu Chaoyan with a look of searching.
