Nothing was a cause of concern so long as Li Yuan was not shunning Shen Xi. Against his will, Shen Xi got on her knees and removed the blanket over his legs. She looked serious as she uttered, "We have to do it since everything is up and ready. I'm a doctor and patients must listen to doctors."

This was Shen Xi's first look at his legs. Muscle atrophy was in its initial stage at this point, particularly in the calf area. His legs were as skinny as a stick while the skin was dry and abnormally pale. 

Li Yuan glanced at the girl's fair hands before shifting onto his legs. With self-loathe slowly taking over, Li Yuan allowed the great sense of helplessness to swallow him as a whole.
