"So this is where we need to go?... an ominous dark passageway that screams death trap... you're telling me you went here alone?" Megan said looking at the passageway that had opened up once again.
"Yeah, Argen the hell were you thinking? Maybe we should wait and-" Lee started to say before Argen pushed him to the side and began stepping into the tunnel.
"We go now!" Argen said looking back once before shaking his head and stopping "Sorry... this is important... please just trust me" Argen managed to get out as his fingers drummed against his side, indicating his impatience.
He wanted to finish this and talk to his mother, his only goal in life had been to find and be with her, now he was so close... yet he didn't know how far he was as well...
"Argen... fine... we'll go, but just chill out, we have time to finish this" Lee said as he and Megan reached the entrance and looked at it with doubtful expressions.
Argen though had already started walking in, following the silver lines trail without caring about the other two.
Had he looked back at his actions, he'd realize he was being a bit selfish... but that didn't matter to him right now, his mother was waiting for him to finish.
"Argen... Damn it what's with him?" Megan grumbled as she followed him inside the dark tunnel. Argen's unstable mindset was making him do dumb things and make dumb decisions. Like now, where he walked in the tunnel forgetting to tell the others about the traps.
As a small poisonous arrow flew out toward Lee, Asfalis quickly moved out of Argen's body and snapped it in his jaws pushing it away and saying him.
"Good job Asfalis, watch out for traps guys," Argen said as he moved forward just as a shift happened as it had happened in the earlier days.
"Argen! You haven't explained a single thing about thi-" Megan stopped her words as the tunnel that had shifted revealed a new passageway, and Argen's eyes widened at the sight of it as well.
"Here..." Argen said as three lines pointed to different objects in the room. First was a small chalice, the second was a book, and the strongest line, pulling him closed was a silver bow sitting in the middle of the room on the table.
"We did it! These are it!" Argen yelled out running forward before widening his eyes as the room split off into three sections and spun. After it was done he couldn't see his friends anymore, it was only him and the bow.
"Huh?" He said out loud as asfalis came out of his aura and blocked a small knife that had come out of nowhere.
"Thanks, buddy" Argen said patting the wolf's head as he looked at the glowing silver bow. Like the moon... it called to him.
Without noticing, Argen's entire body was illuminated in silver light as he reached out for the bow...
Upon grasping it in his hands did he realize someone else was in the room, and looking to the side he saw two women. One was The Pale Lady from before, and the other was the woman he'd seen in his dreams...
"Niobe..." Argen said as his eyes widened when something clamped down on his wrist, The Pale lady was there, keeping his hand on the bow as her body turned slimy and started dripping onto his skin.
"Thank you for coming so early, my daughter returned... and now she's gonna kill your friends... then you as well" Niobe's eyes flashed a red crimson as Argen struggled to pull his hand away, Asfalis was frozen ok the ground, growling yet unable to move as the slime-covered Argen's body eventually making it's way to his mouth and quickly slipping in through the holes on his face until The Pale lady was inside, using her unique to seize his body and force him into unconsciousness.
"Good... Now go avenge your brothers... then go ahead and kill the girl..." Argen's body rigidly nodded as it flashed at an impossible speed into the wall, breaking through it but not reacting at all, and ran through the hall where Lee was.
...
Lee had known some bullshit would happen if they went in with no plan. He was really going to complain a lot later, but for now, he would need to try and get back to his friends.
Luckily, as he turned behind him, He saw Argen standing there with the bow from earlier, a little banged up but all in all fine.
"Ah thank the gods! Now we just need to find Megan and..." Lee's voice trailed off as he looked down to see the end of Argen's new bow impaling the right side of his chest.
"A-Argen..." Lee said as blood flooded his mouth and he dropped, slamming into the floor. Argen's body was rigidly moving now as Argen saw everything, it didn't take much to wake up, but with seeing his friend looking at him with an expression of betrayal as the life in his eyes disappeared he started to struggle against what was controlling his body.
"Quiet... Down" A small raspy voice said as he continued to fight with all his strength until he relaxed out of tiredness, tears flowing from his eyes as they walked slowly away from Lee's dead body.
"Good... My plans are perfect, and once they're dead... I'll have their souls!" The man with a grudge to Artemis said as he collected Lee's soul, throwing it into his bag of souls. With permission from Hades, he was allowed to hunt whenever he wanted., and thankfully he had only been rewarded for his life, instead of punished for boasting about his skills.
"I'll use your own son to kill you Artemis... who would have thought someone with the same unique skill as HER would be born again... the ability to kill gods... And you prideful bastards don't even know it yet hahahahahahaha!"
...
Megan was looking around cautiously, waiting to see one of her friends come around. Thankfully, Argen appeared just to the right of her vision, causing her to smile.
"Hey, Argen!" Megan said to her friend who walked up with a childish smile, she still didn't know how he could smile after everything he'd been through.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
