Bab 73: Killing her demon (1)

"There's nothing so flaming about this door." She observed as it creaked open. It must be at least several millennia-old but although it did give her an eerie feeling, there wasn't anything about it that matched Aires's description. Did she find the wrong place? She extinguished the thought as soon as it formed. There was no other door down the path of the fiery moon and according to the map, she was in the right place.

So she took several deep breaths, walked into the dark, narrow hallway, and grabbed a flaming torch as soon as she saw one on the wall to her left. She trod carefully, trying not to make the slightest noise in fear of startling a demon she was not ready to face. A gust of wind breezed past her, nearly turning off her torch.
