As the first rays of dawn filtered through the curtains, a figure stirred beneath the covers, drawn reluctantly from the embrace of sleep. The soft light filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow upon the walls, and illuminating the room in muted hues.
The air was cool against her skin as she shifted beneath the blankets, the sensation sending a shiver down her spine. With a faint rustle, she reached out to pull the covers tighter around her, seeking refuge from the chill of the morning air.
Morana opened her mesmerizing, mismatched eyes, and the pit of her stomach was filled with unreadable premonition. Something was different today, and the whole world was feeling it. She couldn't quite put her hand on it, but it felt as if nature itself knew something that other living creatures weren't privy to and radiated worm contentment and smugness. She didn't really know what it meant but knew it wasn't something bad, per se, but something very troublesome.
