Bab 44: Chapter 44: Adam joins Pandora
Seeing Adam, the people who are defending the base are cheering loudly, welcoming the saviors who pulled them in their dire fates.
To be honest, a lot of the people who chose to resist the zombie tide are expecting to die, but with the arrival of Adam and co, they were given a new leash on life.
It's not even an exaggeration to say that Adam is the benefactor of the whole base.
" Welcome heroes! "
" Pandora Base is grateful for your presence! "
" You guys are awesome! "
" Don't block my sight! I wanna see them too! "
" Ouch! Your stepping on my foot! "
People are scrambling, trying to see the people who save their lives.
The scene looks very chaotic but in fact, the people are just happy that messing around is their only way to relieve the tension.
It seems like everyone is in tacit understanding on how to warmly welcome the group in the base.
Adam actually feel good about how enthusiastic the people are about their arrival.
If this was during the peace time, it was like the coming of a famous celebrity or politician. When did Adam experience such event? Of course never.
" Hooh~ Jaya, do you have papers and pen? Maybe I need to do some autograph. " Adam said jokingly.
" Don't worry master, everything can be prepared. " Jaya said alertly as she took out a wad of papers and a permanent marker.
The pair of master and servant is in a very harmonic atmosphere. Even Gil and the rest on the side didn't dare to comment about their acts.
Let them play by their selves. We can't see anything.
Arthus who look as reliable as always act as a guard. Some who had daring heart even tried to come closer and have a clearer view of the black armored giant of a man who mowed down all the tier 4 zombies.
" Look how daunting he is! "
" Man, I wish I have armors like those too. "
" Make sure you can carry it first. Look at how thin you are. "
" Jerk! What I mean are customized ones. "
Arthus, the recipient of all these admiring gaze said nothing and was indifferent and like a General, gathered all the skeletons and bugs to form a neat formation.
After awhile, Major General Christopher and the upper echelons of Pandora Base return to the gate and noticed the arrival of Arthus and the rest.
As of now, they are in their normal state and all their accessories as awakened are gone as of the moment.
Arthus had already negotiated with them and they know that the person who Arthus served is among the people who wish to join the Pandora Base.
To tell the truth, Major General Christopher would like to offer them to stay on the main Army Base. Aside from they are not sure about the purpose of the group and whether they really only want to have a place to stay, having a powerhouse like Arthus, they can't help but feel a little uneasy.
If they are in the army base, it will be more convenient as they have the General of the Army who is on par with Arthus and might be able to mitigate.
This group are hidden danger and must be observed. But unfortunately, they want to stay on Pandora Base and Major General Christopher can't forcefully take them with him.
In a few minutes, the two sides finally met.
Lead by Major General Christopher, the upper echelons and the rest smiled and happily welcomed the group.
" Welcome to the Pandora Base your excellencies. We are happy to have you here as our guests. I am the Base Chief, Rhea and the rest here are the directors of the base and the personnel of the Army. " Base Chief Rhea said in a welcoming tone.
Base Chief Rhea is a beautiful mature woman and have the air of professionalism and intellect. As one of the most successful lawyers of the past, she had cultivated herself into a strong and passionate person.
" Hello Base Chief, I am the leader of the this group, the Team Abyss, Adam Wiles. " After that, Adam made a simple introduction of each members of the group.
Of course, the people's focus is actually Arthus, seeing that he is the strongest one.
Christopher's concern on the other hand is different.
" Can I ask who among you are controlling all those skeletons and bugs. " He asked as he scanned with his eyes the neat line of skeletons and bugs on the air.
" Ah, those are mine. I am an awakened with a summoner legacy. " Adam said, half lie, half true. Well, there is no reason to conceal it on the first place. It is better to build up prestige and show some worth from the beginning.
" So that's it. Your performance was really brilliant and I am thankful for how fast we are able to eliminate the tide with your help. "
No kidding, each skeletons and bugs, from Christopher's senses are all tier 3 advance. What is this concept? The kid can actually command hundreds of tier 3 advance powerhouses!
As for Adam's power, even him, a tier 5 person can't actually detect it, like the kid in front was only a normal person.
But seeing the summoned creature, it's impossible for the handsome man to be normal.
A man with unknown power and high combat effectiveness.
A person like that is a walking human base by himself!
" Are you perhaps the master of Sir Arthus? " They asked tentatively.
The lord of Sir Arthus is among these people. And the most likely to be is this handsome young man.
" Well, I am. Is there any problem? "
" Ah, no, no. There is no problem " Christopher replied awkwardly.
Arthus is quiet elegant and intimidating. Seeing his master as carefree and somewhat normal as Adam was a surprise.
The men of the army are strict and strong willed people, but in front of the laid back youth, Christopher can't seem to play their own game.
And he can't help but wonder whether letting this team reside inside the base is the right choice.
" I will send a message to the commander post and will later on give a military title for Sir Arthus and the rest of you.
Please give me a list of your levels, names, age and genders. "
" Thank you sir. "
" Just call me Major General Christopher or just Christopher. "
The paper and pen from Jaya actually played their role as early as it is.
They each wrote their specific information except for Arthus who refuse to do so, seeing how small the pen and paper is for his hands.
So, Adam wrote it himself.
After all this, Adam and Co were arranged by the Base Chief to settle first in a single detached house in the innermost part of the base.
Seeing that the base is quiet generous to give them a house, Adam is naturally thankful and happily gave the people who arranged them some bread and snacks.
Recieving the gifts, they are really joyous and immediately hid the bread and snack to prevent others from seeing it.
Seeing these actions, Adam once again realized that the living condition of other people are actually not as abundant as his.
For a small amount of food, they even need to worry.
" I think it will be better to help improve the production here in the base. What do you guys think? "
Hearing Adam, the rest also become interested. As natives and survivors of the base, Gil and others are actually very attached. If the production can be improved, they will wish for it too.
" Boss, the base actually have researchers and botanical experts who focuses on plants with high yields. But unfortunately, plant samples become rare as the country focuses on industrialism before the apocalypse. " Gil explained.
" So there are few farms and botanical plants? Then where are you people getting foods and water? "
" Foods as of now can still be relied by retrieving some supplies like the ones we did. "
Earlier, they took back the delivery truck which they used to transport the goods and readily gave it to Base Chief Rhea who was happy for the rich harvest.
According to what he heard from the people around, that amount of goods being retrieved is actually quiet rare as most retrieval operations were done by low tier evolutionary and awakened.
" As for water, there are some water magician awakened supporting the base. But the amount is pretty limited, just barely enough for everyone. "
As a resident of the base, Adam felt that he should help it a little. Giving a sustainable source of food is one thing that he see is feasible.
Well, he can't help but feel bad knowing lots of people are actually very hungry while he is always full.
Though it is impossible for him to just immediately produce tons of food, maybe he can help by giving them seeds and scanning the available crops in the base.
That way, sooner or later, stable food production is guaranteed without his abilities being easily known.
As for suspicions, he has Arthus, no one would dare to confront him.
" How can we join the botanical researchers in their field? "
