Mendes had approached the trio without being noticed. They could only feel his orgaion after he spoke.

Victor took the word:

“I… Ehh… We were training, I was teaching the newbies a thing or two about ‘releasing’.”

“Oh, that’s nice of you! It’s good to find the time to train to get stronger together. Just don’t be late for the instructions today, yes?”

“Yes! Sure! I’m right behind you…” Victor left Kai and Birch behind and followed the old man around.

“Sheesh, and he even is resorting to bootlicking now,” Birch commented.

Kai cleaned the dust off his clothes.

“Sorry dude, I wanted to help you but is it just me, or were you firing invisible magic at each other?”

“That’s called releasing… Have you never done it before?”

“No idea what that is, dude. Sheesh. What an asshole. The guy called us a couple. He called me snow-white. I hate to admit, but I don’t think I would’ve lasted against him like you did.”
