Bab 144: Chapter 143 - Emotionally Driven

Her hands tightened around the sink, he still smelt like the salty sea, mud and firewood, yet beneath that she could still smell him.

Diamant shook her head.

She wasn't doing this again, least another mistake happens.

What was he even doing here? Being close to her like this? Had an unspoken agreement that they were just allies and nothing more not pass between them?

She pulled his hand away from her face as quickly as she could. "Step away from me, Sir Giston?"

Drako face knitted into a frown.

Seeing that he had no plans to move, she tried to step aside but he was quick. His hands fell to either sides of the sink, trapping her.

Diamant's heart raced.

It was already taking so much strength for her to stay in control, she was scared that if she spent a minute longer trapped like this, she might willingly initiate another moment he would term a mistake.

She wanted his forgiveness, not whatever was happening right now-- at least not this exactly.
