"Which means you'll be leaving too?" Unar asked, when they pulled back. 

He had expected this too, but then maybe he was hoping that things would be different.

Maybe he was hoping that the world would be a little kinder to both of them, but then Alanor was the devil himself so at least that wasn't that much of an issue for him, right?

"But not for long. I'll always show up for you. If it's any consolation, if you need me, just call out my name, or whisper my name. For you, I will always be a whisper away," Alanor said sincerely as he looked at his well fed mate. 

He loved the brightness in Unar's eyes and wished it would stay like that forever. 

Alanor knew he would always have to show up because now that he had marked Unar, the world would come for his mate, and he wouldn't let that happen. He would burn them all down, if anyone so much as tried to hurt his little mate.
