Bab 13: Chapter 13
Annabeth pov
It has been 10 years since they were sent to Tartarus, 10 years since the oceans turned grey, ten years since I've been happy, 10 years since the last time camp was fun. Today was the day Percy, Nico, and Emma got sent to Tartarus. Every year on this day Hades would come and tell us that they were alive then when night came we would have a big bonfire and tell of their stories.I was sitting at the beach thinking about two years after they were sent to Tartarus. There had been another war. We won but with many casualties. After we won, the gods granted us partial immortality so we now can only die in battle. I was thinking about the demigods who died when the attack horn sounded. I ran to Thalia's tree and pulled out my sword. I was the first one there so I was the first one to see Nyx, Tartarus, and Kronos followed by millions of monsters. Seeing this makes me sad because it reminds me of 10 years ago when Emma passed out right before a battle with the titan god and two primordials. Everyone else from camp had caught up by now and I could tell they were all thinking the same thing as I had been. "Where is your savior now?" Tartarus taunted. That made all of us in camp mad and we charged. "For The three!" I yelled. The three was how we referred to Percy, Nico, and Emma. After I yelled we charged. I fought my way over to Tartarus. "Tartarus where is he!?" I yelled. He turned around and laughed when he saw me. "Oh you know just having fun in the cave they live in." He said.
I growled and charged. I slashed, stabbed, hacked, and pierced with Tartarus blocking dodging and rolling. Eventually he got the upper hand and started attacking. It took all my energy to defend myself. He finally stopped and stood up. I took the break to look around. Jason was fighting Nyx, Leo was fighting Gaei, and Frank was fighting Kronos. All the monsters had either fled or were killed and all the campers were watching us fight. As I watched, Gaei retreated into the earth. Then Kronos and Nyx retreated into the shadows. "You're all alone." I said. Tartarus, who had been looking at me, looked around and saw that he was the only one left. He slowly backed up. "We will be back." He said. "That was only a small portion of our army." He left and we gathered all the cabin counselors around the ping pong table. "If that was only a small portion of their army what's going to happen when the rest of the army shows up?" Piper said. Everybody started talking at once until I had had enough, "ENOUGH!" I yelled slamming my hand down on the table. "It has been ten years today. We don't need to think or talk about this for the rest of the night. Understand?" I said firmly. Everyone nodded their heads. "Good. Now go about like it's a normal-" I was interrupted by the dinner horn. "Nevermind." I said. All of us walked to the pavilion in silence. When we walked in it was silent. Everybody was thinking about The Three. During dinner I looked around and saw The Sevens and mine's food all blue. I scanned the crowd and saw a couple other people with blue food. After dinner we walked down to the campfire and sat down. Tonight, just like every night for the past 10 years it was a dark grey color and was very low. Chiron walked up onto the makeshift temporary stage. "As you all know." He started. "Ten years ago today we lost three great warriors. For those new campers, no they did not die but were sent to Tartarus. Their names were-" Chiron was cut off by a flash of light. When the light faded there were four figures. Three were standing but one of them was in the middle one's arms. The last one looked dead.
(The day before.)Percy/Trident pov
It had been 100 hundred Tartarus years since we were sent to the place we now call home, and 80 Tartar years since Reaper promised to get us out of Tartarus. We were fighting 200 Empousai when they just scattered. We turned around and saw a dragon. It was 40 feet tall. Shadow gasped, "You.." She said kind of surprised and kind of mad "Yes Shadow me." He said. "How do you know him?" I asked. "He was the one that told me i would be coming back here and that my mother wouldn't be able to help. He was also the last face I saw before I was killed." Shadow said. She doesn't talk about her time alone here much and gets really moody and tries to kill anything in her path whenever we ask so we don't ask anymore. Which is why we were all surprised when she said that. "Why are you here?" She asked the dragon. "Because i have been watching you for 80 years and am aware that Reaper has promised to get all of you out." He answered. "I know of a way to get all of you out of Tartarus." As he said this i felt an emotion i hadn't felt in a really long time flare up in my chest. Hope. "How?" Reaper asked. "The doors of death are back in Tartarus and are stuck again. You must journey to the doors and cut the chains holding them there then if you can take a ride up to the real world." He said. "Thank you for telling us." Shadow said. "One more thing. There are two people who can help you." He said "Who?" I asked. "Lapetus and Damasen." He said. I gasped. The dragon turned and left. As we turned and walked back to our home. The other three talked while I walked a little behind them lost in thought. They're alive. I kept chanting in my head. Slowly a huge grin spread across my face as it hit me. They are really alive. "Trident what's up with you?" Reaper asked. By now we had gotten back to the cave and were sitting down in the lounge room "Yeah the last time you smiled that big was when you died Reapers hair blue for a year." Bolt said. "Nothing, it's just….. Bob and Damasen are alive!" I said. "Yes they are now, who are they?" Shadow asked. My eyes locked with Reapers. The girls didn't know that I had been down here before. "Let me tell you a story from when I disappeared for the year." I said. "Yea you said you were meeting some family in Greece." Shadow said. "Actually i lied. I wasn't meeting my family. Although technically they are my family but that's on the god side and I really don't want to get into that right now. Anyways, I lied about one other thing. This isn't my first time in Tartarus."
Bolt pov
"This isn't my first time in Tartarus." To say I was shocked was an understatement. My jaw dropped and I looked at Shadow to see her looking shocked also but controlling it better. "Umm what?" I said. "Well when i got to CHB that year i was kidnapped by stupid, annoying, meddling hera and she wiped my memory. She put me to sleep for 8 months then had me train. I didn't know anything. The only thing I could remember was Annabeth." He winced at her name. You could tell he really missed her. "I was sent to camp Jupiter and became Praetor then I went on a mission with Frank and Hazel. Apparently while I was being kidnapped Jason was also being kidnapped and was sent to CHB" With every name he said a tear fell down his cheek. "I came back from my quest and got my memories back. Then Annabeth, Jason, Leo, and Piper came with the ship Leo had built and got me, frank, and hazel." More tears. "We traveled and at one point Annabeth had to go on a solo quest that was just for kids of Athena. Many have gone on this quest but they all died. The quest was for Annabeth to go retrieve the Mark of Athena but it was guarded by a giant spider named Arachne. Annabeth outsmarted the spider and Arachne fell into Tartarus. Leo, Jason, Piper and Frank were all flying The Mark up onto the ship when we realised Arachne had hold of Annabeth, using a piece of her web. Annabeth began falling and I grabbed onto her. We both fell over the side of the pit but I grabbed on to a ledge. The few who could fly didnt know what was going on so we ended up falling." By now tears were streaming silently down his face. I looked and saw tears streaming down Reaper's face as well but slower. "Before we fell I looked at Ni-Reaper, who was there at that point and said 'The other side, Nico! We'll see you there. Understand? Lead them! Promise me!' he promised and I let go of the ledge. We fell and fell and fell. When we neared the ground I caught us with a river that was nearby. We traveled through Tartarus and at one point we were about to die when Bob came. Turns out Reaper sent him." At this the two boys looked at each other and saw the other was crying. Trident paused from his story and they hugged. I saw him whisper something to Reaper and he nodded.
Reaper pov
As Percy talked about the quest with the seven a few tears slipped down my cheeks. His story brought back painful memories. When he got to the part where he told me to meet him at the D.O.D i started to really cry. I heard him say "Turns out Reaper sent him." I looked up at him and saw him look at me. He paused his story and we hugged. "I don't think i ever thanked you for that." He whispered into my ear. I didn't trust my voice so I just nodded. We let go and he continued. "He helped us get through Tartarus. Then we met Damasen. By the way Damasen has a curse where he has to fight a drakon everyday for the rest of his life. Anyway Bob and Damasen helped us get to the D.O.D and held the monsters back as we got in the doors. We escaped and I thought they died but I guess not." He finished. I heard sniffling and looked up to see both the girls crying. I got up and sat down next to Shadow. I put an arm around her and pulled her into my chest. I felt bad that she was crying. We sat there like that for a couple minutes with her crying into my chest. When she had calmed down we looked up and saw Bolt and Trident smirking at us.

Tridents pov
"TRIDENT!" Someone yelled and I felt someone sit on me. I cracked an eye open to see Shadow sitting on me. I groaned "Come on get up! We are getting out of here today!!" That woke me up. I sat up super fast throwing her off of me and yelling "YEET." "Oof." She grunted as she hit the floor. "It's your own fault for sitting on me." I said as I got up out of my bed. "Whatever. Just change and then go cook breakfast. Bolt keeps begging for food." I chuckled and she left. I walked over to my closet and put on my black t-shirt, Black jeans, and my dragon hide coat. Then I walked over to the other side of the room and grabbed my dragonhide boots. I slipped them on and walked to the kitchen to make breakfast. The others were already there and were all wearing the same thing as me except Reaper's coat was leather, Bolt's coat was Empousai skin, and Shadows was a normal sweatshirt she had had with her when we came down here. "FINALLY!!" Bolt yelled when she saw me. "Now what are you going to make??" She asked, eager to start eating. "Those Weird dragonburgers." I said. "YES" She shouted. "I still don't get how you two like those." Shadow said. "I know right!" Reaper agreed. I looked at him and saw him watching Shadow. I think he could feel me watching him because he looked up and blushed when we made eye contact. I raised an eyebrow and smirked which made him blush harder and I burst out laughing. The girls looked at me like I was crazy. They looked from me to Reaper and back to me. "What is up with you guys?" Bolt asked. "Nothing!" Reaper said a little too quickly which caused me to start laughing again. This time I fell on the floor laughing so hard. He glared at me and Shadow and Bolt exchanged confused looks. Finally I calmed down and made breakfast. After we ate Shadow sent everyone to go get one backpack of the stuff they needed saying we could get anything else at camp. Everyone gathered in the lounge room. "Are you guys ready for this?" I ask "Yup" Bolt said popping the p "Ready as i'll ever be" Reaper answered. "Let's do this." Shadow chorused. With that we walked out of the cave and into Tartarus.
