Bab 164: Dreams

It had been a while since she had dreamed of the past. After all, a lot of her memories felt as though they were from a self that she didn't even recognize. So many things had changed and now, the first life that she had lived felt nothing more than a bad dream. Yet, right now, Lumielle couldn't help but realize how much of a reality it had been.

Where was she?

She was in a ballroom. Looking down at her dress, she remembered the design. A dark blue hue with golden detailing—it was her brother's coronation date. Lumielle looked at the champagne held between her slender fingers, a ring that sat atop the satin as she let out a slight sigh. It was Allard's engagement ring, the promise of happiness and love supposed to be imbued within her. Yet, all she got was misery.

Her brother sat atop the golden throne, eyes cold and harsh as people brought their warm welcomes.
