Dylan walked over to Pearl. "I will support whatever you need to do. Just promise me you'll wait until this album has run it's course. For the rest of the guys sake." He said as he hugged her. He patted Erik on the shoulder as he walked past him, back into the house.
"Pearl." Erik said.
"How much of that did you hear?" She asked.
"All of it.." he said.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for you to hear that. It was just me thinking out loud with my friend. Please don't take it as anything." She said, afraid he would be scared and run.
He turned her around and kissed her. Pulling her into his arms and holding her so tightly she lost the air in her lungs.
"Did you mean it or not? Because if you meant it, I am surely the luckiest man walking the earth. You would give everything up to be with me?" He asked, still holding her tightly.
"Yes. I meant it." Pearl said.
"You know I would never ask you to do that. But the selfish part of the man in me knows it is necessary to have what I truly want." Erik said, holding her face and looking into her eyes.
"And what is that?" Pearl asked.
"You, by my side, everyday, always." He said. "I am going to give you the world, Pearl."
"I don't want the world. I just want you." She said. He kissed her and took her into his arms again, rocking her and whispering, "I love you."
"We go on tour in June for three months. And after that, I'm done." She said. Her mind was made up before the words even came out of her mouth. Erik nodded. "Also, I have a giant estate in the Poconos rented for a week in June before the tour starts, all paid for. I'd like you to be my guest." She said. Erik smiled. "Invitation accepted." He said.
"Maybe we could hold a charity event there for The New Hope? For Blake?" She asked.
Erik's eyes lit up. "That would be lovely, Pearl." He said, smiling with pride.
"I'll have Iris get it put together, then." She said. He hugged her again. She was truly an Angel, in every sense of the word. And he felt fortunate that he was able to see it so obviously when so many looked past her. He felt like she was a secret, just for him. A woman that spent her entire existence just getting by, not knowing she was a queen the entire time.
Nico got there at 6 am to do Pearl's hair and makeup for the video shoot, then they were scheduled at the studio for wardrobe. This video was going to be pretty cool. The concept was them playing for a prom when everyone gets attacked by vampires during their performance. It was a homage to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie from the nineties. The band were also vampires.
"Good morning, nightingale." Erik said, handing Pearl a cup of coffee in the makeup chair.
"Good morning, Prince Charming." She said. He kissed her forehead.
"So, I've never been privy to the making of a music video before. I'm highly interested in this." Erik said. Pearl remembered how awful the last one was with Rhys directing and she was hoping to have a positive experience this time. There was a knock at the door and Charles entered. "Your highness, you have a visitor." Erik looked at Pearl, wondering what was going on. Pearl just smiled and shrugged.
"Auggie! What in the bloody hell are you doing here?" Erik said, giving his little brother a big hug.
"Pearl invited me to watch the video shoot today and she wanted to surprise you. This is the first time I have seen this house. It's incredible, brother!" Auggie said. Erik smiled and felt so happy his brother was in town.
"And cut!" The director called out. It was only one day of shooting this time and everything went smoothly.
"That was incredible. You did an amazing job!" Erik said Pearl. "All of you, what a show." He said.
They all went back to Erik's house and celebrated. Auggie and the guys seemed to get along well. "Two princes!" Ian said, toasting them both. Then he started singing "Two Princes" by the Spin Doctors and soon, everyone was chiming in, singing and laughing, Dylan on his acoustic guitar. Pearl felt pride watching her family and Erik's come together. It was a great moment in her life and she wanted to freeze time, in this moment, always.
