Sounds of claps could be heard, paired with the wolf's crys. Li looked over to his right to see Qi Yuan giving a slow clap with an impressed expression.
"Well done. That was quite a clean attack." He commented.
Li rubbed the back of his head shyly "Uh..thanks." He felt pretty good about himself at this moment, since this was his first time to actually win a fight. Plus, even though he didn't properly do his grandfather's techniques again, he still felt proud of himself for being able to adapt to the situation and use his good qualities, his memory.
"Don't be too happy. Though it was clean, it took you a long time to actually execute it! The only reason you got away with such a flaw was because of that body, but what if you didn't have it? Learn to stop relying on it." Qi Yuan said in a serious tone as he kneeled to check on the wolf.
Xuan Li felt a bit bad from his comment but quickly restored his composure 'So what? I want to die anyway...' He thought to himself.
The wolf was struggling with its body but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get back up because of the dagger pinning him down from his neck.
The wolf continued its cries of pain as it felt its life drain slowly from the blood loss.
"Right, let's try the minor healing potion first." Qi Yuan took out the lighter red liquid bottle and opened it. Afterwards, he held the underside of the wolf's nose and lifted it while taking the dagger off its neck, causing the wolf to feel more pain, but Qi Yuan didn't care. This experiment was too crucial for him and if he tried to give the potions gently, the wolf might already have died from the blood loss.
He tilted the bottle, prompting the light red liquid to enter the wolf's mouth until the whole bottle was empty.
After a few seconds, the potion took effect. However, the minor healing potion only seemed to have stopped the bleeding of the wolf's mouth from when Li caused its teeth to shatter.
The deep wound left by the dagger did not heal nor was the blood loss stopped by the potion.
"That wound isn't healing, is it because of the anti healing?" Li commented.
"Yes..." Qi Yuan said.
'In hindsight, I shouldn't have given Li the twin snake dagger but a normal one. This anti healing will screw my experiment..dammit. A medium health potion won't change anything...' Qi Yuan thought with a sigh 'Ah, I'll just give it a go, I guess.'
The wolf felt his strength return slightly but the deep wound in its neck still persisted, making him feel weaker by the second. While it was dying, it wondered why these monsters were trying to help me when they caused all these injuries. Its eyes began to slowly close...
"Hurry, give him the other potion! It's dying." Li shouted at Qi Yuan, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Quickly, Qi Yuan administered the darker red potion made from Li's blood inside the wolf's mouth.
The potions effect quickly took effect!
The wolf's gums started to reorganise and close all the wounds it had previously and even showed three little tiny white dots in its mouth!
"No way...those are teeth!" Qi Yuan couldn't help but comment while Li watched with shock.
Next, the wound from the dagger stopped bleeding profusely like before and even began to close quite a bit, leaving only a small dried up wound which was no longer deep but much more shallow.
"Wow"
They both said unanimously.
"That potion...it's definitely a top tier medium health potion! Honestly, it could rival the high tier healing potion!" Qi Yuan said as he got his notebook out.
"That potion not only heals wounds and injuries but has enough to counter the anti healing effect left by the dagger and seems to provide a whole regeneration effect! It is able to restore parts that were lost,though not completely as only three small teeth seemed to be apparent in the wolf's gum. But those teeth will eventually grow..." Qi Yuan began to mumble while he jotted his findings in the journal
"These potion effects are apparent in the legendary and above tier of potions Li! Restoring limbs and other body parts is impossible for potions below that tier!" Qi Yuan said excitedly while Li raised his brow in surprise.
Though he doesn't know the system in which things are ranked, only an idiot wouldn't be able to understand how great that potion was.
"Imagine if we created a high tier potion and mixed it with your blood! The effects would be crazy! Your blood elevates the status of a healing potion by many folds Li!" Qi Yuan kept rambling on.
After a few minutes, Qi Yuan calmed down as he administered another medium health potion "Lets see if the wolf's teeth restore completely."
This time, the healing effects of the potion caused more white dots to appear across its mouth while the original three seemed to have grown to its original shape. Though, it made the wolf look quite goofy since it only had three fully grown teeth at the moment. The wound left by the dagger completely healed and even other internal problems were restored inside the wolf, though Li and Qi Yuan couldn't tell.
"Wow, two potions have pretty much restored this wolf! Impressive" Qi Yuan continued to jot his findings.
The next thing that happened, completely shocked the two. Suddenly, jolts of electricity travelled around the wolf and then BAM!
A ball of electricity surrounded the wolf, pushing the two back. Qi Yuan landed gracefully while Li landed face first onto the ground.
"Don't tell me..."
After the electric ball surrounded the wolf, a big bright flash of lightning temporarily blinded the two.
A few moments later, when their vision was restored, they saw the once near dead wolf standing proudly and majestically at the two. The wolf seemed to have grown taller as its fur was coursing with electricity with its blue eyes having a glow.
"Wow...A teenage lightning wolf...advanced to a tier 2!Qi Yuan said with a smile.
He quickly noted something down his notebook 'potion with Li's blood to increase strength? Effects of a breakthrough potion?'
Since Li and Qi Yuan didn't see the internal problems being mended by the potion, they thought the potion might also grant some kind of power. Though it wasn't too far fetched, the potion they gave only has healing based properties and it healed the disabilities the electric wolf had and helped its blood become much purer which resulted in its advancement.
The wolf looked at the two saviours and bowed to thank them and then bolted away at a shocking speed.
"You're not gonna stop it?" Li couldn't help but ask.
Qi Yuan looked at the distance "Nah, I want to see how far that wolf will develop."
Qi Yuan began to walk, leaving behind the baffled Xuan Li.
He turned around "What are you waiting for? Let's find more beasts."
