"How does it feel to know your mate is dead because he doesn't have his magic?" Alex said once he was down casting the spell. 

It was one that even he knew it would take a while for Hudhayfah to snap out of, which was the most hectic a war could ever get for the both of them anyway. 

But then what else did Alex have to lose out here when everything was going just as he and Sebastian had planned it?

"Trey isn't dead. I know it," Hudhayfah said defiantly as he looked at the Russel brother who looked like he wanted to do whatever it took to make sure that nothing ever worked for Hudhayfah. 

Perhaps it was a cruel thing for him to do, given Hudhayfah was mated to Trey, but then Alex was done. He had been part of the war for so long that he just wanted a break. He wanted to live his life like any normal person would, even if they weren't normal.
