The vital machine didn't come alive even after a few seconds, and Morpheous could see panic stirring inside her. He was about to say something, but Caroline spoke instead.

"Prongs!"

"Charge to 100 joules."

"Clear!"

And she placed the prongs around his heart.

"Shoot"

Still, it was a Flat Line.

His hands itched to touch that man's heart and bring it back alive, but seeing her standing in front of her, he simply couldn't bring himself to do it. He just couldn't bear the thought of losing her even for a second.

"Charge to 150 joules."

"Clear!"

"Shoot"

"Again, 150 joules!"

The nurse looked at Morpheous helplessly as Dr. Caroline had been shocking the patient for the last three minutes.
