Bab 119: His Guilty Feeling

A moment earlier in the Paxton's residence, Eastern Wallace, Vincent listened intently to Lest. The longer he heard it, the harder his heart became. Vincent already suspected that he was the cause of Chloe's death. He thought his fight with Chloe was the cause of his death, but it turned out... his sin was much bigger than that.

Lest also told what happened to him eighteen years ago. He laid unconscious for eight months with a knife and bullet hole in his chest. It happened the night after he quarreled with Chloe.

The Regnz family blamed Chloe for his critical condition. Now he was not surprised that his mother hated the Paxton family so much. Even though his family blamed Chloe, Vincent didn't blame her at all. In fact, he couldn't forgive himself for failing to protect Chloe.
