Bab 46: Vampire Diaries 43: Drunk Vampires
Lord Voltaire walks towards me. Smiling genuinely that vanishes my fear away and we're replaced with a smirk. "Are you afraid of me?" said the Vampire Lord. "I can see the fear in your eyes when you look at me earlier," he murmurs while gazing to the Vampire King, standing beside me.
"Perhaps she's not comfortable yet, Father!" Jack said abruptly. "Thalia lived peacefully since then and it is hard for her to adjust!"
The Vampire King protects me from his father. A man with a long beard as his physical features matches his personality.
Dark hair, pointed nose, pale lips that resemble perfectly with Jack.
However, the only thing that differs is that Lord Voltaire seems to be weak and old. Jack is a young vampire, still, and who needs to be trained and taught.
"I... I am, My Lord! But upon meeting you tonight helps me to know you more! To set aside the rumours and bad things about you!" I said in a medium tone.
Emilia, Valmer and Aloha listen to our conversation. They know that I am very afraid but, no one attempted to ruin it.
"From now on, ..." said the Vampire Lord. "I will be your guardian angel and Jack will be your protector. He will watch over you, Thalia!"
At the corner of the wide field, my eyes were stuck with the man standing.
He leans to the wall while his blowing tobacco.
"Drake," murmuring his name makes me weak and my heart stops from beating.
"Tonight, let us all glorify the happiness that my son has found with a simple yet stunning woman, Thalia!"
"Thalia!"
"Thalia!"
All of the vampire's praises and claps their hands as they glorify the bravery that I've made.
However, my eyes were enthraled by the man from afar, blowing tobacco as it is only a horn.
By the moment, Valmer gets the glass of red wine as he raises it. With a smile on his face, "Tonight, let us all welcome our Father who succeeds with his mission," Valmer bow his head before the Lord, and look into our way.
"You look nervous!" said Jack who gently squeezes my hand to ease the nervousness I feel.
"And... the new royal couple, King Jack and Thalia!"
Horns and drums were manipulated by the royal guards. With great happiness, Lord Voltaire takes the glass from the royal maidservant. "Cheers to the King's new beginning!"
"Cheers!" said Jack who holds two glasses of wine. "This is for you, My Lady." He said, giving it to me.
For a moment, the fear inside of me vanishes like a howling wind. The anger and bitterness were replaced with an overwhelming feeling when Lord Voltaire accepted me as the King's beloved.
Without realizing that the thought of the man from afar was gone. Jack holds my hand as he accompanies me to the Vampire Lord.
He was seating with Valmer and the rest of the Royal Family. "Here's the new couple!" said Valmer with bitterness on his tone. "I hope I'll find mine too." He giggles silently that propel everyone to laugh harder.
"Do not rush, young man. Vampires can live for the rest of his life, and you will meet thousands of women!" said the old man with a long beard from behind.
Jack pulls the chair next to me and stares at me for a second, "Sit down."
"You don't have to do it for me," I said in a calm yet meaningful tone. "But, I must thank you for making me strong and have faith in myself. I never knew that you have the power to make someone feels competent.
Mother notice us and I know she is. She stands without telling father, "Forgive me, Your Highness but I'll give her a lesson." said mother who bows her head for the nth time.
"Jack, why don't you introduce her to your Uncles?" Lord Voltaire said while sipping and savouring the bland taste of the wine.
For a moment, I left gaping and surprise. I quickly touch her arm," Sit back, mother! I want you to stay beside father until the night is over." I whisper into her ears.
"Yes–Yes, I... wi–will!" she answered back.
Through her emerald eyes, I know that she's uncomfortable. However, we have to treat other vampires the way we treat Your Highness and Lord Voltaire.
Perhaps, I should ask Emilia about the royal family's past. I need to it before they disclose the truth that I am not the real Thalia.
Jack tilted his head while starting on me. He temporarily put the glass into the table and take a deep breath, in front of Vampire Lord.
"I am grateful that you are here with us, tonight. Thalia is the vampire who has saved father from the brisk of death and the woman who captured my heart. What a small world!" said Jack who's laughing loudly.
"You're too lucky," said the man from afar. "Protect her no matter what happens," he added and throws the tobacco into the grasses.
The royal guards hurriedly block the man who seems to be drunk. Jack squeezes my arm, telling me to stay back. "Bring him to the hut!" Jack commanded.
"Wh–Why?! You don't have to waste your time with him."
"But fa–"
He halts from uttering a word when Lord Voltaire clear his throat. "Continue and ignore those drunk vampires!"
Jack nod and obeyed his father's command. He gulps and looks away as he couldn't decide while the Vampire Lord is around.
He's superior to anyone, and so, the King shall always bow his head to the Lord– to the most prominent vampire.
"Forgive me for acting like an angry lion," said King Jack who abruptly snatches the glass of wine from the table. His left-hand wanders to my waist as he caresses it gently.
"I do understand, Your Highness," I replied, bowing my head before him– every vampire who celebrates the Lord's success.
Valmer, put his fingers into his mouth as he whistles like a bird. Then the lights coming from the torches were gone.
Until I realize something when I listen to the soul-theft harmony while watching over the snowfall.
