Well, she wasn't able to hear them at first and followed the old footprints and was only able to locate them when she was close enough. 

"We were distracted for one second and everyone was gone." Said Mia who rushed to Eugene.

"We saw a group of snakes and…"

Eugene didn't have to know what had happened. They probably panicked and within that time got separated. 

"Alright let's get going." Eugene stretched her neck when suddenly she noticed Mark standing in front of a tree looking at something very seriously. 

"... What's wrong?" Eugene walked behind Mark and asked. She stared at his finger that pointed at a stain and furrowed her eyebrows. 

"It's new."

Eugene paused in her footsteps. 

Her fists clenched tight and she shut her eyes for one good second. Her brain began to formulate the situation very fastly.
