Aaron surveyed her handiwork with a satisfied smile, swaying slightly to the music.

"I can't believe you did all this," Roman said, awed. They stood side by side at the foot of the stairs, having just announced the beginning of the ball, looking at a room that had been completely transformed.

Roman had, after months of complaining, finally thrown the doors of his home open to host the masquerade ball he had promised. As he'd threatened, he had made Aaron do all the work- but she hadn't minded. Set loose with a gold card that had no limit and a command to spend as much as she wanted on decorations and food, she'd stolen Kris and spent hours shopping.
