Yes, peasants. Furdia has an entire class of people so poor they have impaired freedoms. They're so broken down they don't even think of revolt. They don't move out to the frontier, find an abandoned farm and get to work. They just... live in debt.
They just live, and earn nothing.
Anyway.
Clad in a simple peasant robe, scales not polished but at least clean, I followed Bearer Thomas to the eating room. It was a series of long tables, with simple wooden benches...
No, not simple, I noticed.
The wood was of a single cut, or of cuts fused with [Mend Wood]. But there were no breaks in the grain, nothing to mark such mergers.
Oh, the wood was dead, no using Lifeshaper senses to verify it. But from what I could sense, it appeared to be cuts of single pieces of wood. You see things like that in shipbuilding some times, but not often in something like benches. Not the tables, just the benches.

To all, I am sorry; I've been busy for the past few days. Work today has been difficult. Writing, less so.
So according to the outline, all the political and dramatic plot points have been addressed now. No spoilers, but you know the world as Rhishi sees it. This doesn't end in happiness and sunlight.
