"I want to see him swallow it." Hella said, moving in just in time for the inevitable vomit. "Argh! It's in my EYES!"
"In your hair, too." Narrok told her, as she fled toward the town well.
"Kick him till his teeth fall out!" she shrieked, moving away as fast as her feet could carry her.
"Well," Arthan said, "I suppose we must, then."
I dodged, rolling over one of the shields I had fashioned. Little more than a bunch of gnarled roots held together with spider silk, and it performed about that well. But it would be better than nothing, and the pre-placed sticky pads adhered to my arm.
Or not, I thought, as it fell off.
Delmek was trying to get his spear point under my chin again, but I was having none of that.
Damn it, I was falling back before children. Or whatever your culture calls pre-adolescents.

Mike_Kochis I didn't realize how attached I'd gotten to my bed until I had to give it up for the move. I've got a cheaper simpler replacement on the way and about a month out.
And thank you all for putting up with the boring bit while Rhishi literally got his feet back under him. While not the shield brute he had been, he is back in danger, where he shines.
