Bab 25: Stephanie Fox

Jon met with Attorney Clarence Morgan one morning at Donatos Pizzeria. "What can I do for you today?" he asked the lawyer who had been vocal about his observations regarding the death of Jon's mother, Allana. Clarence Morgan replied, "I have a few observations regarding the case of your mother, Jon." He took a sip of soda, then replied, "My mother had long been gone, attorney. Her case was closed." Morgan shook his head in disagreement, and then told him, "I can see that Vivian had been so desperate getting Cathy out of her way, she had sent legal counsel to file cases of theft due to her lost jewelry pieces." He paused, placed both his hands on the table and leaned a bit forward, getting nearer to Jon, and then continued. "I was browsing through some files after my meeting with Hudson, and found out that during one of the court proceedings, was a sighting of Sergius Desmonde with his daughter outside the court where the hearings were held." Jon chuckled a bit, "He had been my father's business partner for many years, you know that." Morgan said to him, "Listen to me, Jonathan. It is not because they are supporting your family. The reason that they were there is because Sergius Desmonde himself was charged for drug dealing because his name was brought up by some guy who was held by the police at a checkpoint." Jon leaned towards him, this time he was more interested with Morgan's ideas. "The suspect that dragged his name to a syndicate is a brother of the one who had killed your mother, by accident." Jon's eyes were suddenly filled with fear. "I don't think it is," he managed to say. "It was too much of a coincidence, don't you think?" Morgan asked him and he nodded in agreement. He leaned towards Morgan, lifted his hands so he could get the documents. He got them and read through each page. By the minute he was browsing through the third page, a slender woman approached them." Oh, hi." The two men looked at her, as she continued. "Hi, I am Stephanie, if you can remember?" She gave Jon a beautiful smile. Stephanie Fox was a slender and tall woman, with her long blonde hair in soft curls and a red cocktail dress which emphasized her small waist and curved hips, she was undeniably attractive. Jon shook his head a bit, and she continued, "I was one of the models in the Abercrombie fashion show that you've sponsored. It was done in The Lavish, by the way." Jon got up, and Morgan followed, as a sign of respect. " I guess I'll need to go. I'll call you for updates." Attorney Morgan said goodbye and left, leaving the two who sat down in a bit. Jon was able to remember how she kept trying to approach him at the bar where the group celebrated the success of a store opening launch of a fashion brand. They spoke and ate for almost two hours. They two had fun and decided to leave the place and transfer to another. "Would you want to drink for a bit? My treat." Stephanie told him and smiled beautifully. They went to a bar close by and ordered some drinks. A famous supermodel as she is, Stephanie attracted a lot of attention. "I'm drinking with a friend, so I could get a bit of privacy, please?" She asked a manager. They were given a spot in the mezzanine, there were three rooms that would fit around 10 people each. Before they entered one, Jonathan told him, "Charge to Jonathan Albertson, please." The man nodded, and let them in. The room had its own refrigerator full of drinks, there were meals and finger food to match the alcoholic beverage. The two drank, Jon looked at Stephanie and said, "I do not usually drink a lot, I'm just so full of stress right now." She held his hands and comforted him. "I am here to listen," Jon felt something in his heart, he moved away from her, as he remembered that he had not called Cathy for hours. "I need to make a call," he got up, dialled her number and got a voicemail. "Hi, it's Catherine. Please leave your message and your number so I can call you back." He faced Stephanie, who had been staring at him, and he said, "She's not picking up." He felt bad, as he had a lot of things to tell her. He wants her to know that he is going to unwind, because he keeps on discovering new possibilities about his mother's murder, his father's disapproval of Cathy and Vivian's issues that he had to deal with. Stephanie got up, pulled him and handed him over a bottle of beer. The two drank and were enjoying a lot, they spoke about career, politics, movies and a lot of things that Jon was unable to discuss with Cathy. After two more hours, Cathy returned his call. "Hey, Catie," Jon said, his voice a bit shaky as he turned sleepy with alcohol. "Are you well? I'm sorry I had an interview with the dean earlier," Cathy said to him, sounding worried and apologetic for not being able to answer the call earlier. "I am going," he told Stephanie. "Thanks for the time, Stephanie," she reached out to him and kissed his cheek. "Call me Steph." she turned away and said, "You go ahead," and smiled seductively at him. He went downstairs, left a card at the bar and left the place immediately.
