Bab 25: Chapter 25
The audience cheered at the absolute spectacle that the fight was. Everyone had gotten their own dose of dopamine.
Axel walked of the arena while Bakugou was sent to the infirmary to recover. Class 1-A congratulated Axel for his victory, expressing how exciting the fight was.
Nezu watched the match from his seat and enjoyed it, laughing with pure joy written on his face.
' That was a brilliant strategy at the end. He revealed to Bakugou that he can reflect light, making Bakugou assume he could make invisible barriers. He then revealed that, confirming Bakugou's thoughts.
He then used that to his advantage by making a barrier behind Bakugou when he threw him towards it. Bakugou knows that if he gets trapped inside a box, he loses the match so stopped himself.
Axel then reached in and knocked him out with a punch. Bakugou was led into that position after Axel got enough info on his thought process. ' Nezu thought with excitement.
When Axel threw Bakugou at the barrier he made behind him, he could have surrounded the barrier with invisible barriers shaped in a cube.
Bakugou would have gotten trapped inside and lost the match as he cut break Axel's barriers.
Bakugou soon woke up in the infirmary after recovery girl healed him. He sat up straight as he looked towards the screen where Todoroki was going against Iida.
' I lost. ' Bakugou thought.
He stared at the screen before gritting his teeth.
" Goddammit!! " He yelled before breathing heavily.
' I lost to him again! I'm still behind him. I need to train harder. I will become number one but before that, I will beat him. ' Bakugou thought.
The fire inside Bakugou became brighter as he wanted to defeat Axel. He was snapped out of his thoughts as he looked at the TV.
" Match begin. "
Todoroki immediately sent a large amount of ice straight towards Iida. As the ice approached Iida, he activated his quirk and dodged the ice by going to the left.
The ice passed him as he rushed towards Todoroki. Todoroki wasn't phased as he sent another ice attack straight towards Iida.
Iida dodged to the right and was then trapped in between 2 ice walls. Todoroki looked at Iida and got ready to send another blast of ice.
Iida then used Recipro burst and dashed towards Todoroki. He passed by Todoroki and grabbed the back of his shirt.
He then ran straight towards the boundary. However, he stopped as he looked down towards his engines to see them frozen.
He looked at Todoroki who then froze him in place.
" Iida can't move. Todoroki is the winner. " Midnight said.
Todoroki unfroze Iida and walked off the stage. He went straight towards the waiting room for the final match.
" The final match of the festival. We will have a 5-minute break before the fight between Shoto Todoroki and Axel Black, begins. " Midnight said.
The audience cheered as they were excited. They knew the fight would be epic.
Bakugou went to his classmates who meet him as he walked towards them. He saw Deku already there with his arms in casts.
" Yo Bakugou, how are you feeling? " Kirishima asked.
" Just peachy, shitty hair. " Bakugou yelled to Kirishima, clearly frustrated by his loss against Axel.
" Woah, calm down. " Kirishima said.
" Don't explode on us. " Denki said.
Clicking his tongue, Bakugou sat down as he waited for the final fight to start.
" Oh yeah, Bakugou. Who do you think will win? " Denki asked.
" Most of us say Axel while others say Todoroki. " Tsuyu said.
" Axel's barriers could probably withstand Todoroki's ice but if he uses his fire... " Midoriya muttered out loud.
" Axel. " Bakugou said.
Everyone stopped and looked at Bakugou. They knew he fought Axel so he might have a better opinion.
" Half and Half ain't winning. Even with fire. " Bakugou said as he laid back.
' After all, in that match, I was just manipulated into every scenario. ' Bakugou thought as he clenched his fists in frustration.
His classmates sat down as well as Midoriya who decided to listen to Bakugou's words. Mina and Kirishima weren't bothered as they just got ready to enjoy the show.
Todoroki was inside his waiting room as he thought about the fight coming up. The conflict inside him continued as Midoriya's words created turmoil inside him.
It may be his fire but he got it from his father, the same person who caused so much pain towards him and his family.
He didn't want to use his fire for the festival but he broke that rule and used it.
He got up from his chair and walked to the arena where the fight was going to begin. As he and Axel walked in to view, the audience cheered for both of them.
" The final match of the sports festival. In one corner we have Shoto Todoroki. In the other, we have Axel Black. " Mic yelled over the speaker.
Todoroki tensed up while Axel merely stared at him with his hands in his pockets.
" Match begin. " Midnight yelled.
Immediately, Todoroki started with his go-to move. He sent a blast of ice straight towards Axel.
The ice spread across the arena and quickly transformed into a giant glacier as it did with Sero.
It covered Axel in mere moments as the audience watched. They couldn't see Axel at all, as silence rained over the stadium.
Midnight waited as she looked at her clock, knowing that she would have to end the match after a few more seconds as nothing happened.
* boom *
Everyone's eyes widened as they stared in shock. From the giant glacier, a transparent spherical barrier appeared, breaking through the ice. As the ice made contact with the barrier, it crumbled into pieces, turning into small shards as they fell.
The audience looked at the culprit who stood in the same spot. He never moved an inch from his spot.
Suddenly, Axel did something that caused the audience to gasp in shock. Everyone in the stadium, to the people at home and Todoroki especially. This shook them to their core.
Axel sat down.
