Bab 37: chapter Thirty Seven.
Lucas let out a sigh of relief when he saw that Zawadi was already waiting for him. A small smile crept on his face as he checked out her features. She was beautiful, cheeks chubby and pink, her long hair tied back in a neat bun.
He beautiful brown orbs tinted with a bit of red probably from crying . Her lips full and pink.
He wanted to kiss her, to run his tongue over her lips. To feel her again like he hadn't been able to the past couple of days.
But that wasn't possible at the moment, she was hurt. It could clearly be seen on her face if her red puffy eyes didn't give it up.
He felt guilt hit him like an out of control train and would have fallen on his knees before her to beg for forgiveness right there and then.
"Hi" he greeted awkwardly and saw her stiffen.
"Hi" she replied with a small voice.
"Would you like to order something to eat?" he asked.
" There is no need. I did not come here to eat. I would really appreciate it if you went straight to the point" she said.
At her words his face fell and she must have noticed it because she spoke.
"I didn't mean to be rude. Forgive me" she apologized.
"Its okay I deserve it "he reassured her.
"Yes you do. You have put me through hell. You must be extremely proud of yourself. After all that is exactly what you wanted. I would have forgiven you for believing the information you got but you just had to top it all by cheating on me. How would you feel if I did that to you, assuming you even cared about me "she practically screamed.
"I know that I was wrong. I am here to correct my mistakes. Please don't let my mistakes ruin what we have. I still love you and I promise you that I won't hurt you again" he said his voice filled with desperation.
" Another promise?" She asked, "You couldn't keep the ones you made .What makes you think that I will believe you again?"
"Please give me one more chance I promise to be better for you, for our relationship, for us."
"Do you think it's so easy. That every time you make a mistake you just say you're sorry and everything is back to normal? It's not that simple. you promising to be better, to try harder is not enough. I am sorry if I sound selfish but I want more I want you to trust me I want you to listen to me because love itself is not enough" she explained.
" I will, I will listen to you. I will .Just.. You just give me another chance .You wont regret it please I beg you"
" I don't want your promises I want you to show me. Show me that you can be better for us. For me .That you will trust me. I don't want your words I want to see it happen ,"she said standing up on her feet.
"I will''he said and rounded the table standing in front of her, I will" he repeated. Taking a deep breath he gathered her in his arms.
She couldn't help it. She found herself leaning further into him. That was exactly what she needed, to be held.
"Don't hurt me again ,don't ruin us" she begged" I can't live without you. I love you" she confessed.
"I'll do everything in my power to earn your forgiveness .Please don't ever leave me" he held her close.
"Don't ever let me leave. You are all I have" she sobbed into his chest.
"I was set to go home tomorrow, I mean. I want to see my parents "she informed him.
"I'll take you" he offered.
"You don't have to. I can manage .Besides you have work to do" she reasoned.
" I won't be going to the office tomorrow so I'll be free. Besides, I would never let you go alone. " he told her .
"Okay, thank you" she gave him a small smile.
"Where are you staying ?"he asked.
"At a hotel "she answered.
"Why, you can stay with me."he suggested.
" I don't think that is a good idea. " she told him.
"Why, don't you trust yourself around me? " he teased and just like that the heavy atmosphere was gone.
She blushed a deep shade of red and lowered her eyes. She couldn't believe that he could still get such a reaction out of her.
"I missed your blush " he commented and her blush grew even more.
"Please just come and live with me. I promise that I'll give you your space .You can even have your own room just come with me. "he held her small hand in his.
"Okay, I'll come but after I come back from my parents place " she told him.
"Thank you " he brought her fingers to his lips and kissed them one by one.
" I can't wait to meet my parents again. I am so happy ".she babbled excitedly.
" I'm also happy for you" .
"It's been so long what if they don't like me?" she asked worriedly.
"Why won't they like you ?You are their daughter they will love you" he reassured her
"I hope so" she gave a heavy sigh
"Enough of that, tell me, what do you remember about your parents?". he asked, interested.
"Well,i remember I used to be a daddy's girl. Whenever my mom scolded me, I would report her to my father. He would always take my side,sometimes even when he knew I was wrong .My mom on the other hand was so sweet. She always knew exactly what to say. Whether I was happy or sad. She had the correct advice to give, always. I miss them so much "she sighed.
"You'll see them again tomorrow, don't worry " he told her.
"Yeah, tomorrow" she repeated.
"Don't worry cupcake, I'll be there with you. Every step of the way" he told her
"Don't call me cupcake, I am still mad at you" she said with a scowl.
"I know, I am so sorry " he said.
