Fresh off the battlefield, I changed my clothes and started to wipe off the blood and guts. The war was reaching its climax; I could feel it. The World Government was throwing everything they had at us, and several times, we had walked away bloodied and battered, and today was one of those days.
It began to wear on me as we fled the battle seeing the bodies and wreckage of ships floating in the water. I had just pulled on a robe when there was a knock on the door, "Soren, are you in there? I wanted to talk about what our next move should be"
I opened the door and smiled at Robin, who held a stack of papers in one hand, the other on raised to knock on the door. Sighing, I smiled and moved aside to let her in, "It's a little unusual, but sure, why not."
Robin nodded and took a seat at the table in the corner, "Soren, are you okay you seem stressed, more than usual." Nodding, I sat opposite of her, "I never realized how draining fighting a war would be, and I've genuinely underestimated the infinite amount of resources that the World Government has at their disposal."
There was a moment of silence before Robin set the papers aside, "That's what I wanted to talk to you about. If we keep fighting out here, we'll never get to the heart of the World Government."
I raised my eyebrow, "Are you, of all people suggesting a head-on attack?" Robin nodded, "It's time to cut the head off the snake." I sucked on my teeth, "While I admire the gusto, there are several problems with that plan."
I held up my right hand and started to go down the list, "First off and most importantly, we have no clue where the head is. After our raid on Mary Geoise, the five elders had gone to. Second, who knows what type of equipment they have at their disposal. The third point is a branch off of the second. This new form of seastone is the most dangerous threat to our people."
Robin shook her head, "I don't understand you quarrel with this new weapon. Only a small percentage of our army are devil fruit users. And if you are worried about the rollout of devil fruit weapons, there is no proof that seastone affects them in any way. So tell me, why are you so up in arms about this?"
I sighed, "It's due to the serum. When I started testing initially, I used my stem cells as a carrier for the mutation. Those who ingest the serum can have adverse effects from seastone but nothing more than slight discomfort. But this concentrated form...I don't even know where to begin."
Robin fell silent, only staring at me, and I sighed and fell back into my seat, "I'll suggest your plan at the next meeting, but advise that we wait until we gain more information from the Evos and the task force."
"Thank you, Soren, for the recommendation and for your trust." Robin gathered her things and was about to reach for the door when I called out to her, "How about you stay a little bit longer. I feel like we don't spend enough time together. What do you say?"
Smiling, Robin sat back down and pushed her papers away, "Sure, why not? Do you have anything in mind or..." I reached into my inventory and pulled out a bottle of sake and two saucers.
Robin took one for her own, "I'm always amazed that you have an infinite void inside of you." I cracked a smile, "Well, let's see if we can fill it with this bottle."
For the next three hours, Robin and I talked, her face becoming flushed as the night went on eventually to the point where she was slurring. Realizing she had overdone it a bit, I started to clean up our mess, but she grabbed my wrist loosely when I walked past her.
"Why did nothing ever happen between us?" I was stunned initially as such a question, but I brushed it off, "I don't know, maybe we're just not compatible." I a sudden fit of rage, Robin stood up, knocking her chair to the ground, "Do you find my personality or appearance revolting?"
"No, you are the most level-headed person I know and are one of the most beautiful women in my life," I responded not a second later. Robin smiled and started to twirl her hair, "Then lay with me. I want to be your woman, so why don't you accept me?"
Sighing, I reached into my and pulled out a Lembas pill, "Here, take this and tell me you feel the same way." Robin immediately grabbed the tablet and swallowed it before returning to glare at me.
After a few minutes of an intense staredown, I watched as the fuzziness and the alcohol started to wear off, "So how do you feel?" Robin crossed her arms, "The same way, I want to be yours, Soren. The alcohol only gave me the confidence to say what I had been thinking for a long time."
I pulled Robin against me and kissed her softly. I could feel her melt in my arms, becoming more and more dependant on me to keep her standing.
Breaking apart, I stared down at Robin, "Let's take this elsewhere, shall we?" Robin nodded shyly, and I created a portal that put us at the foot of my bed.
For the rest of the night, I entertained Robin exploring every inch of her body. In the morning, the entire room was filled with the essence of the previous hours. Robin was curled against me, tracing her hand along my chest, "Thank you, Soren. You change my life in so many ways."
I kissed the top of her head, "I should be the one thanking you, after all, who else would I rely on to drink with me."
Roin smirked, "I'm sure Cal would be more than glad to help you with that problem."
