Bab 160: Chapter 160: Fleet

Alex tapped her fingers on the table as she listened to the communications between Janice and her teams. She wished they had visual, but instead, it was just snippets of orders barked between them. Jack was headed back down with the leader to talk strategy. It sounded like him and Jimmy were in a bit of a tiff. She grabbed the edge of the table as the ship rocked violently.

"What was that?" Janice asked.

"Looks like a missile!"

Janice stood at attention. Panic laced her voice. "Where'd it come from?"

"Searching, ma'am," her tactical officer said. "Here, port side. Looks like a fleet of darts has found us."

"Red alert!" Janice shouted. "Tell the teams to stay put top side."

The communication's officer relayed the order. Alex could hear Jack's voice buzzing over her comm.

"Do we have anyone left to man the pods?"

"No, ma'am. Most everyone with experience is on the Surface."

Janice's weathered face drew in a deep frown. "Options?"

"I can manage one," Alex offered.
