Bab 75: Chapter 75: Forever

It was decided that they wouldn't land the spaceship near the property. Their wolves were used to them getting into their trucks or the motorcycle and going off to scavenge. But if they saw the family entering the spaceship it might frighten them. Bilal recounted Little Wolf's behavior after he witnessed him entering the space pod. The young wolf was never quite himself until after Bilal returned. It was agreed that they would meet the ship in the vacant parking lot of a nearby strip mall.

They packed the truck with more provisions than they probably needed and then Carmella went down on her knees and gripped Wolf's fur holding his face close to hers.

"I'll be back. I promise. Watch the farm, okay? Don't let anything at the chickens and don't you go chasing them. Keep Little Wolf in line. Sometimes he's too reckless. But you know the deal, baby boy. You know how things work. I'll be back, okay?"
